    If Starbucks can do it...

I just saw the Starbucks Presient on 60 minutes talking about charging more for coffee to make sure ALL of his emplyees have access to health care, stock options and other benefits that he did not growing up. The only stipulation is that they must work at least 20 hours per week, that's 12-20 hours less than most companies who offer a benefits package.

Yet many other industries, including those in the 'fast food' genre that Starbucks so awkwardly fits into, claim that there is no way they can do this. No way at all.

Then the final secret to Starbucks success became apparent. They hire hardworking, quality employees and treat them well. Then they back up their high price by selling consumers a GOOD product, not some $0.99 dollar menu hamburger made of mostly soy and S. American beef.

Perhaps other industry leaders should take note... Oh wait they have (you didn't hear this from me) but McD's is looking at launching a nationwide coffee chain like Stabucks, only with cheaper coffee, illegal workers and no benefits.

That's because those other companies can't get by their own greed, their addicted to it. They'll always cry poor mouth, when in reality, they rake in milions in profits. For a company to come out against the shadows of employing illegals and to offer benefits deserves hard working dedicated American citizens as workers. The other companies can go drown in their greed. I hope they choke on it,.. lousey pukes

According to a list on another thread - Starbucks contributes to
LaRaza - before we go putting any halo on them.

Didn't know that, thanks for the update---I retract what I said about them. Sounds like they may be out of touch with what La Raza is really all about.

Your post was right on the money - and actually, mine was a reply to the original post - yours just got posted before mine. It sounded like I was being nasty to you - I wasn't.

nntrixie, could you please find that thread? I had a graphic up on our May Boycott Choice thread that had a logo from Starbucks on it. Those were actually companies that the open borders crowd is boycotting on May 1st - so if you are going by that graphic, that information is not acurate that Starbucks funds La Raza.

they already charge too much for their products

and why would u pay folks to serve coffee higher wages then the market bares if it's not required too?

Sounds like to me, this guy is trying to gouge the customers and trying to lie and say he will use the money to help give his employees more benefits, when infact, i bet little would go to them and he would pocket most of it.

These Crappers should be in jail for Charging $5 bucks for a cup of coffee.

They contribute alot of their money to liberal causes like Planned Parenthood and ACLU.

Best we can do is boycott their azz.
