Restaurant manager goes to prison for hiring illegal immigrants

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - A former manager of a Springfield-area Chinese restaurant has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for housing and employing more than two dozen illegal immigrants.

Xiang Hui Ye had faced up to 10 years in prison.

Co-defendant Xian Xi Ye was sentenced Monday to 18 months on similar charges and is expected to be released to the custody of immigration officials to begin deportation proceedings.

The men were indicted two years ago for a litany of charges including money laundering, housing illegal immigrants in apartments and then employing them at their restaurant, Buffet City. The establishment has since reopened under new management.

This very same situation is suspected to be continuing right now in Cleveland Tennessee and Bradley County. A Chinese restaurant allegedly using illegals and housing them in a 3 bedroom home valued around 180,000 dollars. You can see the racks of clothes hanging in the Living Room window and ICE made a raid last year after several calls and complaints. 2-3 Fugitives from China were among the dozen or so removed and then within 48 hours the home was full again. White van, blacked out windows, around 18 people more or less exit every morning and leave every evening. ICE said they would return, who knows and they apparently don't mind the situation, even with found fugitives. And yes, the housing code is being violated and they don't respond either.

Bradley County is known as the "Easy Road to Freedom," for illegal aliens. That is a nice title for your city and county.

The local Police Chief Wes Snyder does not think the City should be involved. He says it is a Federal issue. The MS 13 gang recruits in the local schools law enforcement stated and there was a murder in the Bradley County and Cleveland, Tennessee area with apparent ties to the gang.

A group, the Ocoee Region Multicultural Services was said to assist illegal aliens by news media and when this was revealed, an investigation by a few local citizens was requested and whether related or not the group seemed to go away for awhile. Well, they are up and running with the Chamber of Commerce at the helm. Gary Ray is asking for people and businesses from the community to be a part of the group for a fee. BB & T Bank is now a member and it seems that they were listed on the we give accounts to illegal aliens, and they accept the matricula consular card.

Make more calls to ICE on businesses that hire or that are suspected to hire illegal aliens.

This is good to hear that someone is getting their "just desserts" for their crimes that perpetuate illegal immigration.

I seriously doubt they got the jail time for hiring illegals.

It wasn't the illegals that brought down the wrath, it was the money laundering. Somebody in the government didn't get their cut of the $$$.
