Illegal Aliens strain National Power Grid
This is an issue that nobody to my knowledge has brought up and i wish to bring to everyones attention. Not too long ago, the state of California suffered a series of power brown outs as well as shut downs. This was followed by National Media attention of our ageing National Power Grid and how it will not be able to keep up with growing population demands in the near future. From 1970 to 2006 according to the U.S. Dept of Energy power consumption in the U.S. jumped from 20 Quadrillion BTU's to 40 in 2006. The influx of Illegal Aliens in this country are contributing factor in this growing crisis. California with its massive Illegal Alien population is certainly a factor in the California Power Crisis. This Issue is of Vital importance to US Stratigic Power infastruture planning and has not been addressed by the Media enough.

Reciprocity,
I bring up environmental concerns with my media and congressfolk contacts all the time. I point out how ironic it is that everyone's worried about our water, power, food, etc, supplies, the quality of our air, etc, yet are inviting 12-20 million illegal aliens to be here...which will encourage millions more to come illegally, and say that this pro-illegal stance, makes no sense from a ecological impact sense.
I also strongly suggest that they (every newscaster, and gov't official at every level, fed., state, and local) be required to read Frosty Wooldridge's series: 'The Next 100 Million Americans'.

Re: Illegal Aliens strain National Power Grid
You are absolutely right. People tend to forget that along with everything else they mooch off us, illegal aliens make use of our infrastructure which was built with the tax dollars of American citizens and their ancestors- not some guy who crossed the Rio Grande 2 hours ago. They place a terrific strain on the electrical grid, cause increased water consumption in many areas of the country where water supply is becoming scarce, make use of our roads while not contributing taxes towards their upkeep and pollute our communities and atmosphere by leaving garbage everywhere. These are the 'hidden costs' of having 12-20 million people in this country that we neither need nor want.

Another thing I have often thought about. What if there was a national disaster? Hopefully that won't happen. But these people would add a lot more lives for our establisnment to be concerned about and to pay for in a circumstance like this, and it would put a strain on rescue and recovery units. How many American lives would be lost because we wouldn't have the resouces to take care of everyone.

tinybob,
I already wonder about this with the closures of hospitals and ERs because of the free medical care that illegals get, and the extra time needed to get to other hospitals, and more crowded ERs.How many American lives would be lost because we wouldn't have the resouces to take care of everyone.
Of course, the numbers would be much greater in a natural or wmd disaster.

Nobody talks about the water shortage either. We are supposed to not waste water, but we are to conserve it. But it's ok to let millions of people come here illegally and use up our resources.

Tinybob, there was a national disaster on 9/11 and if I remember correctly there was a huge influx of people crossing back over the Mexican border because the people feared that America was under attack...
As for resources what about the use of oil...the politicians are constantly complaining that Americans use to much of it, but with chain migrations we are looking at many, many millions more using our oil...Funny how they complain about American consumption but it's ok for millions to come in and consume our resources!

The strain on our energy, food, water, and all natural resources should be the MAIN concern to every politician; but NO ONE addresses that fact!!! Instead....it's Al Gore and global warming. Even Schwarzenegger is trying to get in on the global warming act at the very same time that CA is in the midst of an historical drought and the coming blackouts!!!
Maybe we should think about invading Mexico...since most of the 100M remaining Mexicans will be here within 5 years! At least we won't have an over-population problem and we can live off THEIR land!
