I cannot get over the gall of the Illegal's, and for absolutely affecting our 'federal poverty line' as well as our states'. I am all for anyone who comes here legally, but geesh, why should WE BEND to people that break laws, and continue to drain our services...... With so many out of work, I bet you there are more than enough of us, that are willing to do what the illegal's say, Americans won't do this kind of work. Well we'll never find out until they go home, and fix their own country. How wonderful for them, to be able to send money home to their families. This is a really bad issue, and if more American's don't stand up and call BS, we might as well say, Mexico/Latin America has taken over the USA without a shot fired. Exaggerated yes, but if we continue to sit on our arses, and not do ANYTHING about this problem....... This would be the end result!

In the past year, many Latinos who have lost their jobs have turned to the day labor site in Cornelius to find work. But on many days, no employers drive by. Some of the men have not worked for weeks, while payments lapse -- rent, bills and remittances sent to families in Latin America. The men have a sixth sense about any car pulling down North 11th Avenue just off Adair Street. As the car slows, the rush to be the one picked.

Did this employer offer the job to an American FIRST? Did the employer go to the State Unemployment Office to find an American to do the job? Did the employer file an I-9 form on the immigrant and did the employer E-VERIFY?

Oregon LATINOS hit hardest? The Title should read:
Illegal aliens who caused the resession are finally suffering for their crimes.

    WE are the victims....NOT them!
