Amazing how Pendergraph flip-flopped on the issue of illegal immigration when he went to work for the feds, but you can't bite the hands the feed you. I am so disgusted, perhaps I should move to South Carolina (their taxes and gas prices are cheaper than in NC.) But then again there is Iceland, where I don't think they have much illegal alien problem because it is too cold--never mind: American companies are already there to mine phosphate (for fertilizer), destroy the land and who knows if they will bring US illegals along to do the work Americans won't do.

Two years ago, I was DENIED in-state tuition assistance to finish my bachelor's in multilingual education (English, Spanish, and Portuguese), because the financial administrator felt I hadn't taken the REQUIRED number of courses for the past four years I attended college. The reason for that is because while I DID apply for and receive in-state tuition for the 2001-2002 college term, I was SICK and TIRED of HAVING to RENEW it EVERY semester. So for the next several years (2002-2004), I PAID for TWO classes per semester out of my OWN measly disability check, because THAT was ALL I could afford! Yet, ILLEGALS are GIVEN in-state tuition with NO strings attached! This especially perturbs my MOTHER. She is NO spring chicken, and would LIKE to see me get my bachelors' degree and since I would be the FIRST one in our family to achieve that, it would mean SO much to her!

I'm with you joahiza. American citizens who have been convicted of felonies can't recieve financial aid unless a judge lowers it down to a mismeandor. But why can illegal lawbreakers get in-state tutition that really makes me mad. There are law abiding Americans and legal immigrants who struggle to pay for college. The battle in North Carolina over illegals attending state community colleges is an injustice to citizens of that state who want and deserve to have an education or techincal trade training. This is happening all over the country. Bill "Moron" Richardson seriously doesn't care about the young citizens of New Mexico gettting a fair education he feels that if illegals have good grades they should be able to have in-state tutition and scholarship benefits. They broke the law just because they got good grades should excuse the fact they are lawbreakers.
