Illegal Immigrants and Social Security
Senator Sessions has provided on his website a list of problems with the comprehensive immigration reform legislation being considered by the U.S. Senate. According to the Senator’s website: “After filing an application and waiting 24 hours, illegal aliens will receive full probationary benefits which includes the right to live and work in the US and their own Social Security number. Aliens who came to the U.S. on legal visas, but overstayed their visas and have been working in the U.S. for years, as well as illegal aliens who apply for Z visa status but do not qualify, will be able to collect social security credits for the years they worked illegally.â€

Welcome aboard chuckieb!
Yes, indeed - Soc. Sec. is one of the big reasons NOT to provide amnesty for illegal aliens. As part of the SSTA (Soc. Sec. Totalization Agreement w/Mexico; signed in secret in 2004) illegals would in fact, get all the benefits any US citizen would be eligible for.
It took the efforts of the TREA Senior Citizens Leauge (www.tscl.org) to file a FOIA (Freedom of Info Act) request, to force the government (SSA) to disclose the contents of the SSTA signed with Mexico.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Everything that is done with Mexico is done in secret. Does speak well for an open government.
