Illegal immigration is a felony in Mexico

Illegal immigration is a felony in Mexico

    December 20, 2010

In 1970, after splitting up with two friends in San Miguel D’Allende, I discovered that they had accidentally taken my visa with them and I was an illegal alien in Mexico. Under the protection of the American embassy, I got a new visa.

Mexican officials explained that had I been caught while undocumented, I would have had to spend two years in a Mexican prison and my family in the United States would have had to pay for my food as well or I didn’t eat.

This Mexican policy remains in effect today, with illegal immigration a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegals are considered criminals.

And El Presidente Felipe Calderon has the nerve to insist that Arizonans comparatively mild law is “racist?â€

Yea... a country without honor and evidently a people too.
Do as I say, not as I do...(dis-honoring OUR LAWS!)

    HYPOCRITES!
a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
    Yea, that sound like Mexico!
Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!

The US is the most relaxed developed country in the world when it comes to illegal immigrants. Like you said Mexico its a felony and 2 years in prison. Pakistan you'll be shot, Afghanistan you just would disappear..

Why does everyone else think the major western countries especially the US need to have far more lenient and nicer laws them the countries questioning us have? Why should they be able to say that we should be held to a higher standard?

Notice the bolded part? Mexico makes their families pay for food or they don't eat... Why can't we do this?

I think Mexico changed much of their immigration law in the past 2 years due to groups like ours pointing to their hypocrisy. They are still very tight rules but relaxed just enough so that "enforcement advocates" could now be called wrong for stating what the title of this thread does.

Mexican President Calderon: We Fine and Deport Illegals, Too

5:51pm May 20, 2010 . . . The law also says Mexico can deport foreigners who are deemed detrimental to . . .
It is no longer a felony, but illegal immigration is still . . .
