Illegal Immigration Is A Lot Like 'The Invasion of The Body Snatchers'

Illegal Immigration is a lot like the1950s Sci-Fi thriller, "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

One day, a man wakes up and finds that the people he knew are being replaced by alien pods that grow and replicate them one by one while they are asleep.

At first, no one realizes that their neighbors have been replaced, because the alien body snatchers are duplicates of the people they dispose of.

But upon closer inspection, the aliens have none of the personalities or distinguishing mannerisms of the those they replace -- because, after all, they are aliens.

Small businesses and workers replaced

This Sci-Fi movie scene is not unlike what I have witnessed happening to small businesses and their workers throughout the United States.

One day they wake up and discover they are being underbid by large contractors, who are using subcontracted illegal aliens, which have suddenly appeared one worker at a time from south of the border.

At first, many of of the small enterprising businesses bear down -- determined to compete by lowering their prices, or working themselves and their crews extra hard.

But because they are paying workman's compensation, withholding taxes, FICA and often contributing toward their employees' medical benefits, and their competitors aren't, many of them come to the stark realization the owner of a small construction company I know did.

"They were doing the work for less than my cost, so I had to let my crew go," he said.

Chalk up a quick dozen victims of the invasion of the illegal alien job snatchers! A dozen car payments, a dozen mortgage payments -- a dozen less members of the American middle class.

Just like the movie

And just like the another scene from the movie, "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers," when the police chief, the mayor and the town business leaders, who have all been replaced by aliens, tell the only guy in town that hasn't that it's useless to resist by staying awake, our President, the National Chamber of Commerce, and illegal advocates constantly tell us it is useless to resist.

"They [illegals] only want the jobs that Americans won't do," President Bush assures us.

"Fall asleep why don't you," I read in his big board smile.

Screech -- a racist, a racist

And just like the final scene of the movie when the last man who has not been taken over thinks he's greeting his girl friend and she points at him emitting a loud high-pitched screech, when any U.S. citizen condemns this ongoing illegal alien invasion, the rest of the pod people point at them and screech:

"A racist, a racist."

That's why I say, illegal immigration is a lot like the Sci-Fi thriller, "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers."
