04-09-2006, 05:04 PM #11Well, thats your opinion.. My belief is, if the gov't of a country I was in was thinking of kicking me, my family, and 11,000,000 others like me out of the countyr back to a place we fleed from b/c of the violence and instability, and low incomes, then I'd be making some noise about it.cosnidering that illegals have much more to lose then we do, I can see why they organize in such massive numbers.
I dont agree.. we are trying not to lose the sovereignty of our nation, they would only lose their profiteering off of our nation. We have FAR MORE TO LOSE from 200 years of building a nation then they do
On the other hand, the Americans of this country have no such worries of having to be sent back home, etc etc.
I ain't saying I like seeing them protest in such large numbers vs Americans, but I think my explanation holds true as to why there is such a disparity between the two groups.

I have one suggestion...
perjaps we can organize some teams - each team has an objective to make a specific goal happen e.g. call CNN and get them to be more fair in their alien marche reports
OR
Organize to ensure we contact our senators
OR ... some other key goal
Each goal should be set up by the ALIPAC leadership - sugestoins should be taken from members
this could have the benefit of organization to attain specific goals and we could create teams. Right now we are a mass of people who come in and out of the discussion boards...
thoughts???

04-09-2006, 05:59 PM #13I understand your point of view but the reason I dont agree with it is because your looking at it from a per person (or family) personal perspective and that does not add up to the perspective of the loss of an entire nation. Lets keep in mind that if the trend continues they will bankrupt our social and economic structure and then NO ONE will be able to live here with any form of prosperity. The loss of a family compares little to the loss of an entire nation.Well, thats your opinion.. My belief is, if the gov't of a country I was in was thinking of kicking me, my family, and 11,000,000 others like me out of the countyr back to a place we fleed from b/c of the violence and instability, and low incomes, then I'd be making some noise about it.
You were directly comparing what they had to lose to what we have to lose.. their losses are personal, ours is a nation. To me that is a huge disparity in differences.
Basicly they are only looking out for themselves without any care or consideration of the consequences for what they are doing to our nation and in many sectors they are showing complete contempt and disrespect for our laws and way of life and make no attempt to become legal citizens through the normal process, so I feel no pity for the ones that blatently break our laws. If they are so unhappy about their situation in Mexico then there are other ways to ask for help without raping our economy as a means to their ends.
That is what I was trying to imply here, please take no disprespect from my varying point of view.

In the beginning this thread was about...how are THEY better organized than WE are?? I'll bite.
When spanish radio sets a date...then they all jump to participate. We don't. We don't have such central places to meet...or such central places to gather news...we're scattered here and there over the net. No one agrees on any particular thing to do and WHEN to do it.
Weighing in on the other parts of the thread...IMO WE are the ones who have EVERYTHING to lose. Our jobs...our way of life..our language...our schools...our hospitals...all the umbrellas that have been established for us in the last forty years will soon crash. So...that's about all EVERYTHING encompasses.
The illegals have NOTHING to lose except what amount of time they have spent in our country. If worst comes to worst they can always go back where they came from. If our country is destroyed, with their help, we have NOWHERE to go.
Our government is the place to lay the blame for this situation. Bush will NOT enforce the laws...the legislature will NOT INSIST that he enforce the laws. They have the right and they have the power...they just don't DO it.
Meantime...we HAVE to organize. However many of us there are...we have to do the best we can...we have to hold the fort until the cavalry arrives. Do I hear a bugle?? I think I hear a bugle!!

04-09-2006, 06:14 PM #16notice those two words: Spanish Radio? Who do you suppose pays the radio to let people know? I don't think they do it out of the goodness of their hearts. When spanish radio sets a date...then they all jump to participate. We don't. We don't have such central places to meet...or such central places to gather news...we're scattered here and there over the net. No one agrees on any particular thing to do and WHEN to do it.
The only things I've seen that are something that I could participate in without driving five hundred miles and winding up divorced as a result are:
APRIL 17,2006 A DAY WITHOUT AMERICANS
I've already scheduled to take the day off work, I've talked my husband into taking a day off. We won't be buying anything from any retailer, we won't be buying any gas, and we won't be doing any on-line money spending of any sort.
Of course, in order for this to work, Americans all over the country will have to participate in every way they possibly can because I can tell you right now that even if all 49% of this city's American population were to participate( which they won't becaue way more than half of that 49% are of Hispanic descent), the other 51% will undoubtedly be conducting business as usual.
Then there are the letters and faxes. I have done this until I pretty near have no fingerprints left from tapping on the keyboard.
IF a group actually goes to Washington DC this summer, I will be among them one way or another.
IF I could find ten people in this town who would openly protest illegal immigraton out on the streets with me, I would go but I'd call a couple of my friends on the police force to keep tabs on us as well as they did on the school skipping kids who threw rocks at them.
To me, part of what makes these people LOOK so organized has nothing to do with the protesters but the people who manipulate them. if La Raza would hire a bus for us, fix it so that big business would let us off work for the day, etc. do you think that we would participate?
I still think that some of those people actually got paid to be there. It is the way things are done in the third world.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

April 17 is exactly what I'm talking about jj....I had that date set aside as did my husband...I'd sent emails to friends and family...
And NOW...another site wants to do it on two other dates...
DISorganized...that's us.

Media
An American day off would only work if there was a way to get a couple large media personalities like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and maybe Rush to get all their listeners to participate. That would be enough to get some real notice. But a couple hundred thousand is not enough just like I did not notice anything from the masses today that were suppose to shut everything down. It did not effect me at all just like if they were all sent to their home countries it would not effect me except I would not have to pay as much in taxes and I could drive home without the fear of being in an uninsured motorist accident. But hey let me know I have a lot of vacation time.

This thread is another MAJOR reason why we cant take the time to organize like they can,
