this thread about the WSJ article entitled "A Way out of Immigration Mess" highlights my biggest concern with our response to the pro-illegals side.... they have succeeded in branding ALIPAC, Minutemen etc as "racist" without really being able to show logically how they arrive at their conclusion...

This article in last weekend's WSJ in my opinion clearly shows the "true" assumptions behind the "need for labor from Mexico"... They clearly want to make a deal with Mexico in order to accept their "surplus" labor for the benefit of certain industries, to the exclusion of other ethnic groups from around the world; i.e. exclusion by the fact of concentrating on Mexico, and ignoring others. Where are the righteous folks? I would declare that to be

de facto discrimination in favor of Latinos/Mexicans
to the exclusion of all other racial and ethnic groups.

So why does not our side begin to use THEIR lingo and point out the racism and favoritism toward Latinos, and Mexicans in particular. What amazes me is that none of our Government leaders nor local civic leaders sees this as discriminatory if not racist.

Kennedy enginneered the DIVERSITY VISA precisely to emphasize non-European immigration, only to end up emphasizing Mexican immigration.
