Instead of working to provide these young people with education and health care and decent housing and a way to live productive lives, our government gets up every morning with new plans to destroy their families.
We are working and want to give young people and education and health care and decent housing and a way to live productive lives - for our own families, you know the American families who belong in this country, and the other LEGAL residents of the US. We are just tired of working for all the illegals who come here expecting us to break our backs by working for them too! We cannot afford the anchor babies scheme anymore! The line in the sand has been drawn!

It is the parents of the children brought here illegally that you should be angry at, and perhaps your time would be better spent warning your relatives in your home countries NOT to come here and expect the struggling citizens of the US and LEGAL residents to provide freebies for them through taxpayer funded education and other social services. THIS IS NOT A RICH COUNTRY ANYMORE! HAVEN'T YOU GOT THAT MESSAGE YET?

Re: Illegals plan Civil disobedience for Dec. 20

It figures - they did not get their wish so they react with what they know best - violence. Stop deportations, my ass. Step it up!

If they block the doors of government buildings - arrest and deport!

They should be given no mercy because they are here ILLEGALLY. You break the law, pay the penalty.

I get no mercy, why should they?

A friends daughter is trying to close on a new house and the closing has been delayed because she just found out her SS number is being used by five other people. She had no idea until the bank pulled the credit report and notified her. How does this happen - are there no safe guards by the IRS or anyone else - she is really pissed to put it mildly.

I have faith some real immigration reform will occur next year.

    Regards and thanks to all.

All of this is happening in spite of the fact that we elected a President who committed in no uncertain terms to stop the separation of families. The recent elections have solidified the deadlock in Congress on a way to fix our broken immigration laws. Yet the President still has the power to stop the deportations until the Congress finally addresses this national tragedy.
First, are illegals admitting that they voted in the last presidential election? "We" voted? That would be a felony and grounds for deportation.

Second, national tragedy? Maybe for Mexico which would not only lose remittance money if the illegals were deported but Mexico would need to support these people with social services.

    more evidence

This is more evidence that the major issue here is democracy--not race, not economic impact. This movement should be called what it is "anti-democracy".

Anywhere from 1.5 to 2 million illegal voters vote in Federal elections, most of those are illegal aliens. Politicians know that. They want those votes. That's why politicians pander to the illegal alien lobby.

Legal ID should be required to be shown to be able to vote.

How could they possibly take the time to participate in some disingenuous pity party?

The so called "Dreamers" are all in school, at work and over in Afghanistan fighting.

Please, please have the courage to not give us just a day without "Dreamers" but to give us a nation without them.

We already have millions of capable young people who are United States citizens that do well in school, are industrious and make up the world's most powerful military. Get the picture we don't need "Dreamers". Get it right "Dreamers" need us. They need us to subsidize their education, let them gain employment in our economy and provide their families social welfare benefits.

The conversation needs to be changed to focus on our own young people and their achievements. I am not impressed by the illegal alien who is voted student body President at a school that is 99% hispanic. I am interested in the millions of young Americans (which as foreign nationals "Dreamers" are not) who play by the rules and are preparing to become productive members of society. We need to herald and take pride in their accomplishments and foresake the tendancy in the media to lose perspective of what is fundamentally important. And what is fundamnetally important at this time in our country is educating American Citizens, employing American citizens, using health care resources to take care of American Citizens and providing social welfare benefits such as food stamps, social security etc. for American Citizens.

"Dreamers" need to reevaluate what exactly it is they are dreaming of. Because it is quite obvious they are not dreaming of doing anything for those they left behind or those who would be their neighbors. They are so self absorbed it seems as though they mistakenly believe the world revolves around them rather than they should find their place in the world.

Ask yourself this, if the so called "Dreamers" are so wonderful why doesn't that banana republic running clown calderon put out a call for them to come home to save and restore mexico? Is it because they cannot stand on their own feet and genuinely lead? Is it because they are used to being given things and are not capable of being productive in order to give? Is it because they are only pawns whose only purpose in life is to be kicked around by a bunch of corporatists and socialists?

What part of persona non grata do you "Dreamers" not understand?

Why can't the government just do the right thing for once. If they mass in protest go through checking immigration papers and if illegal deport. If the actually head towards civil disobedience see which are on green cards also, arrest em, revoke their green cards and deport. Its all within the laws. If only they would enforce them.
