Immigration policy may be sign of future

Immigration policy may be sign of future

    Sunday, March 18, 2007 2:22 AM EDT

    Editor:

In 2005, a report entitled "Building a North American Community" was published by the Council on Foreign Relations.

The CFR report connects the dots between the Bush administration's actual policy on illegal immigration and the drive to create the North American Union.

The Bush Administration is pursuing a policy to expand NAFTA politically, setting the stage for a North American Union designed to encompass the U.S., Canada and Mexico. This will bring about open borders with Mexico and Canada which, in turn, brings about the NAFTA Superhighway.

Starting in Mexico, a very, very wide highway will run through the heart of the nation at Laredo, Texas, to the Canadian border north of Duluth, Minn., and into Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Montreal.

It will cost $183 billion in new taxes and tolls.

It will destroy tens of thousands of homes, ranches, farms, businesses and whole communities through eminent domain.

It will signal the end of our sovereignty and the beginning of a North American Union with Mexico and Canada.

This immense massive highway going through the center of the United States will make it easier for cheap foreign goods from Asia to be transported from ports in Canada and Mexico into the United States. Long term, it will form a "North American Union," creating a single continent-wide entity without borders, tariffs and customs, bringing about the end of the middle class and replacing the U.S. of A for the North American Union.

If this goes through, what was the USA will be nothing more than a polluted throughfare for other countries to get from point A to point B. I guarantee Mexico will never allow anyone to step across their border without proper paperwork. Since all their people will be here, what is happening now will only get worse, the Mexican gubermint will be calling all the shots. Instead of Mexico calling Washington making demands, Washington will be calling Mexico asking for permission to install a traffic light. In fact don't be surprised if a Mexican politican runs for president of the US while still in Mexico and we won't be allowed to vote.
Be careful what you wish for...you just might get it!

Imagine how the farmers feel. Generations of farm families won't be able to fight this project because of the new "Eminent Domain" ruling passed by the Supreme Court. Literally thousands of farms will be divided, split up, or sold to make room for this mega highway. Thousands of families will be displaced. How convenient that eminent domain was just passed - as though no one knew about the NAFTA highway beforehand. Crooked judges - Bush lovers.

This is why "strength in numbers" comes into play. Since any violent uprising would be impossible to pull off with the technology that the government has today, the only recourse that I see Americans having is to unite in a common goal. A political revolution is what this country needs. For too long we have been led around by our noses by the Republicans and Democrats for their self serving purposes. Career politicians and special interest groups do what they like because they have been successful in dividing everyone into groups that disagree on superficial issues. At the heart of this fight is our way of life, and our country. The only way to succeed is to be louder, bigger, and more influential then the "enemy".

We did not lose our rights and sovereignty over night. It has been happening slowly for decades. Take some rights here, make this illegal there, and not to mention the laws they enact in the name of “tolerance”. They are bleeding and diluting the foundation of this country and will continue until, viola!! We will all be at the mercy of the establishment. If we are to protect what is ours, and preserve the rights that our forefathers/mothers fought for, we have to unite as Americans and stand up to these greedy politicians and tell then NO MORE! We will NOT sacrifice our future or our country so that you can make your wallet fatter. The United States of America is not a cliché. It is however in danger of becoming obsolete.

What has made us strong in the past? It was a People that believed in this country and in themselves. Self reliance, and determination and the pride that all Americans had because they were part of something great. We are perilously close to losing it all. I for one will not sit by and just let it happen.

We have support, Canadians don't want this anymore than Americans do. The only people that want it are the politicans, big business, and Mexico. Doesn't speak very highly for the ethics behind this proposal.

Americans have lost their voices and regaining that voice is the first step in turning this situation around.
We need to look at how those who oppose us win against us and use their stratagies. So far it has served them well.
Talk radio is off the charts popular as a forum for people to express their opions and concerns and look how it has taken off!
We are being defeated in the press, the entertainment industry and the news. They use spin the make the ridiculous seem the norm and if it is forced onto us long enough, we accept it as the majority of opinion.
Communication is the key to winning this goal.
Entertainers espouse their agenda through humor, agenda written scripts and benefits. They have the power of fame to make their words and ideas gold. I would love to see news organizations, music empires and Hollywood flooded with new ideas and concepts. That is how you win the hearts and minds of men.
Give the next generation someone they can admire who will speak in their behalf, be cool doing it and turn the thinking of the American people around.

Maybe a campaign where we try to contact every American voter with a grass roots, city by city, nieghborhood by nieghborhood, flyer distribution campaign? I dont know, but I am still suprised how many people are ignorant over this issue.

Frankly, I like the old fashioned idea of an uprising by the people such as blocking roads and bridges and picketing construction sites. A "Hands Across the Highway" march would do a lot to raise awareness of these issues of eminent domain and NAFTA superhighways. I WOULD GO TO AN EVENT LIKE THIS IN A MINUTE!!!

The political system is just too slow and worthless since most politicians don't have the ability to agree on anything and are unwlling to stand up against the corporate establishment. Politicians have proven over and over they don't represent the people.
