What's the Mexican-american and African american in all schools for?

They have more African-American history than they have American History these days. Where's the German-american history and the Italian-american and Chinese-american and Canadian-american and Hungarian-american and Russian-american and Scottish-american etc. etc. etc. history then? Seems they aren't interested in Mexican-american history, but Mexican history. They need to get off the African-american band wagon because it's a coat tail they don't come close to deserving to ride on. And if they went to school they'd know it's being taught.

These photos really bother me. I mean if Whites were running around with White Power signs (which I know some undesirable groups do) they get looked down upon and discussed in the media as being racist. How is 'waving "Chicano Power" any different.

It's not. I painfully watched it today on HBO on demand. It was sponsored by NCLR and Lulac.

I love the Freedom from Oppression sign. How the hell do these idiots think they are being oppressed? They have more rights then we do. Plus if they feel that they are being oppressed, why don't they go back to where they came from?

    topical

Wow, how topical. I went to a meeting this week to introduce our new controversial (he's under investigation in Chicago for fixing grades) high school principal, Mr. Guerra. He joked in the beginning, "You [audience] don't speak Spanish? You better get with it this is America." Something to that effect.

He spoke of how he will help get 'undocumented' students get to college; corporate sponsors, help filling out forms, -he said at his past school it was like a lawyers office... When he alluded to using the highly profitable pop funds the audience let him know -NO Way. It was strange -with a 68% hispanic school population- and about 65 people attending I saw no hispanics. The group that sponsored the event has several hispanics on board and they advertized in all the local Spanish newspaper and radio stations about this event.

If you want to see some of his other 'amazing and inappropriate comments' you can! He was questioned about whether he would celebrate American holidays and not focus on one ethnic group. How would he help the students be proud to be Americans and not... Folks it was an incredible evening.

They don't know what opression is. let's ship them to N.Korea, Cuba, Laos, Cambodia or any other number of places.
