    The People VS. The President

I think it's time for US to toughen up you guys. I don't know if everyone heard the speech at the border today by GWB. All the signs and signals are there.....he's ready to do his very best to get amnesty and the guest worker program through.

Although we will be civil, we are going to need to be STRONG and let our voices be heard !! Get ready everybody for :

    THE PEOPLE vs. THE PRESIDENT
Because if we lose........it's going to be a very sad day for Americans and for future Americans as well. Our country will have said that it's okay to break our laws and once we say that.....there's no telling what the future will hold for us. George Bush's future will be safe and secure, but ours will not be. We must stay civil and hold ourselves to the highest standards, and we must give it the best that we have to give.

WE THE PEOPLE MARCH ONWARD TO VICTORY FOR A COUNTRY THAT UPHOLDS AND RESPECTS THE LAW.

OUR LAWS WILL PREVAIL PRESIDENT BUSH, BECAUSE WE THE PEOPLE SAY SO !!

Did you hear this clown today say "We will be a welcoming society"? Who does he think he is? He must think he's King of the World or something. This traitor belongs in a strait jacket.

Dman, the reason I wrote this post is because I saw something very disturbing today.

I believe that President Bush has started to try a new approach in order to get his amnesty through. I believe that he is trying to play on the sympathy of the American people.

He gave his speech on the border in the hot sun, attempting to send the message, "Look I am TRYING, here I am on the border in the heat in the elements, with the border patrol, I'm TRYING as hard as I can !"

For a second, even I almost fell for it, until I was able to see through the smoke screen. This is a very cowardly and wrong thing for him to do, in my opinion.

SURE, go to the borders, but go to the border and SAY WHAT NEEDS TO BE SAID if you are SERIOUS.

I just HOPE and PRAY that the American people, who ARE SO kind, patient and good will not fall for this. I sincerely hope that our fellow Americans will understand that they are not being mean and cruel by demanding that he do what is right, and that is to protect U.S. FIRST and to recognize and acknowledge that we, the people want our present laws enforced and that we will not stand for any compromise to this.

No doubt, this is yet another ploy he is trying to trick us into. No coercing or sugar coating of this issue should result in the amnesty and particularly the citizenship as a reward for broken laws. This guy is only playing for both the inside and outside special interests...and we are just to be used to push their goals through...that benefit them and hurt us, particularly in the long term (as more and more of our jobs are being squandered and our standard of living further deteriorates). Negotiators should take the citizenship issue off the table right away. This is key. Negotiations should get easier from there...They should also throw in the ban on birthright citizenships as a grounds to continue negotiations. This is the most important poison pill...citizenship by birthright...Becasue, down the line - now, you see two of them - in four years, through the process resembling bacterial multiplication (given that I have never seen anybody multiplying this fast), there are 6 of them, 8 of them etc. The cumulative increment, you can never kick out...(and after they are 18 years of age, they can bring their parents and relatives adding to the strain of having to support both their children and elder parents and relatives, because, once here in this way, they can then apply for benefits) and regardless what you do, you can't influence anything...and particlularly once they are eligible to vote.

So, to summarize path to citizenship and citizenship by birth are two issues that need to be taken out first and foremost...for any negotiations to resume.

    Stay sharp

What happened when he went to Laredo (sic)? Isn't that the town that has turned into a 3rd world look?

I heard E.D. on Fox and Friends talk about that town this morning, she said it was awful and sad.

All of us need to contact E.D. and ask her to do stories on that town....send a cameraman down there, etc.

    contact her at friends@foxnews.com

Yeah, just across the border, Nuevo Laredo has turned into a killing zone with the highest muder rate in the world. Tens of police officers are murdered there annually. The Zetas pretty much rule that city for the drug cartels, to the extent that almost exactly a year ago they murdered the new "get tough" police chief only nine hours after he was sworn in.

All that violence and corruption has spread across the border to Laredo.

    Impeach

    Impeach

We must take a stand and enforce the rights of the People to have a representative government. When elected officials take it upon themselves to go against the People because they feel they have the power to, then the People must stand up with one voice and demand their removal. Every single Senator that voted for the Senate bill on immigration reform must be removed from office. This is mandated by the basic concepts of representative government and our system of checks and balances. The People need to send a loud and undeniably clear message that the promotion of any idea that is contrary to the will of the People will not be tolerated! George Bush must be impeached. Send the message that a President must support the will of the People at all costs. If your Senators voted for the immigration reform bill then impeach them. We must return to a government that is representative of the People. The People are the United States of America and to be against the People is to be against Our nation. For any American to operate in support of an invading force of foreign nationals who have already infiltrated our country at a time when we are at war is traitorous. Impeach the traitors. Protect the sanctity of our nation. Ensure the safety and happiness of Our citizens.

What specific "high crimes (or) misdemeanors" do you think would be applicable? Be specific. And please don't say "treason," given that nearly half of the congressmen who would have to make such a determination more or less agree with the President's immigration policy.

I think that talking about impeachment is unrealistic and a waste of time. For starters, "the people" have nothing to do with the impeachment process, given that articles of impeachment are drawn up by the House and then tried in the Senate. Do you honestly believe that there's an icecube's chance in Hell that the House AND Senate would collude to impeach this President? I don't.

Lastly, your comments regarding the role of government is a bot out of touch with the concept of checks and balances set forth by the FFs. This was never meant to be a direct democracy, and in fact the "tyranny of the majority" was one of the evils they sought to avoid. That being the case, only one body (the House of Representatives) was meant to be directly accountable to the People. The Senate was meant to represent the states, and the President was meant to be selected by the parties. The Judiciary was meant to be appointed by the President with the advice and consent of Congress.

Having said that, I agree that the system is broken. I just don't happen to believe that changing to mob rule (pure democracy) even begins to resemble a correct answer.
