When interpreting the news or online coverage, there are 3 things to keep in mind:

  • Due to the Superbowl Half-time Show Feb 1, 2004 where Justin Timberlake pulled off Janet Jackson's bra creating a "wardrobe malfunction" and exposed her breast on "Live TV," they implemented a multi-second delay and no longer show "live" anything https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_...ow_controversy

  • In 2012, they passed the Smith-Mundt Moderization Act which removed the protections of the Smith-Mundt Act passed after the Great Depression, thereby legalizing the use of Propaganda in news and other public communications

  • The current development stage of AI (Artificial Intelligence) allows for "real-time" video editing, even though they will not tell you that this capability exists or is being used now

With all these in mind, it is sensible to consider these elements when observing any news or events in the public arena
