regardless of her past history, I sort of like what she is proposing (if we HAVE to endure any type of legalization of illegals)

passing a criminal and personal background check, must demonstrate knowledge of English and American History, must pay back taxes, must pay $2000 find to help defray costs of administration....and this is just to get her "orange card." There were further requirements to be eligible for green card (including annual fee, annual reporting requirements, must have employment....)

I think they should take the "Tax Money" and the $2000.00 and make a payment to the Hospital(s) thay have taken advantage of...and then,LEAVE THE COUNTRY.

yeh well, I'd like to win the lottery too but daydreams are immaterial. They're going to pass SOMETHING. This is the most palatable I have heard to date....even if it is from Feinstein.

The first thing that happens is wired money to Mexico must be taxed. We know taxes aren't being paid on that money. It needs to be taxed at a higher rate than FED/STATE/SSI. That would encourage them to either not send it or pay correct taxes on it. If they can't prove health insurance, then some amount needs to go into a national healthcare fund to take care of their drain on the hospitals.

If they can prove they paid taxes - fine. NO SSN and pay stub - no wire transfer without tax.

This money needs to be spent in this country. Maybe they would begin to live better and not live like pigs. Maybe they would contribute to the economy of this country instead of just taking.

No section 8 housing for these people. No loans and property ownership.
No drivers license until they have a basic 5th grade grasp of the English Language.

Lets see if these mexicans can actually pay for their existence in this country as reported by BUSH. I bet not.

Maybe without all of the "freebies" some (that won't play by the rules will just stay in Mexico).

Here is what I sent to Feinstein's office following her proposal on C-Span:

While your orange card proposal is certainly more workable than the Hagel-Martinez tiered system, why not just simply STOP all the freebies that illegal aliens get and ENFORCE OUR EXISTING LAWS by arresting those who hire them? This would be FAR cheaper than any new program and you won't need to deport anybody. THEY WILL LEAVE on their own. They are only here because of the benefits handed to them on silver platters that even HARD WORKING Americans cannot get!

I'm merely giving her proposal a fair review before out of hand rejecting it. And if we are going to stand by "no amnesty whatsoever", then we/you must be prepared to offer a viable alternative. Simply complaining accomplishes nothing. What is YOUR proposal (realistic one, not daydream one).
