Lame media. One source (axios, linked on Drudge now) says AG Sessions is on the outs with Trump:

While another (Daily Kos, basing this on Politico) says Sessions is "ascendant" with Trump:

This is just more left wing hype and fake news.

I read somewhere that Sessions threatened to resign over the firing of Comey. What could that have possibly been about, even as a lie?

More likely is that Sessions is unavailable for spin against the posture that Trump took running for election. Sessions himself was one of the more radical stances that Trump took running for election. Sessions as attorney general was pretty much unavoidable, even if Trump was just grandstanding everything he said running for election.

Somewhere, the rubber must hit the road.

Trump could fire his entire cabinet and nobody would care unless he fired Sessions. Trump firing Sessions would immediately begin a huge implosion among his supporters he could never get back.

pkskyali, the false rumor wasn't about Sessions, it was about the Deputy Attorney General, Rob Rosenstein, and it was a false story like 90% of the stories about Trump. Neither Rosenstein nor Sessions threatened to resign over the firing of Jim Comey. Comey had to go for a variety of reasons, his actions during the campaign, his comments before intelligence committees, and the last hearing, that one where he testified before the US Senate Judiciary Committee, when Grassley asked him a series of questions that Comey answered so badly, that caused Grassley to say "Eegads." Comey ain't right. There's something very wrong with him. I think Trump found out what it was or watched that testimony and knew he had a goof-ball on his hands and on top of everything else, he had to go and go quick.

From what I understand that would be impossible because supposedly Jeff Sessions endorsed the Deputy Attorney General's recommendation to fire Comey.

Agree 100%. I too think firing Sessions would be President Trump's death kneel with a noticeable number of his base. Personally, I think Jeff Sessions was the best hire Trump made.
