The Jersey killings
Monday, August 27, 2007

Natasha Aeriel, 19. Delaware State University. Biology major.

Terrance Aeriel, 18. DSU. Preached at a ministry.

Dashon Harvey, 20. DSU. Psychology major.

Iofemi Hightower, 20. Essex Community College. Enrolling at DSU.

Fine people listening to music in a well-lit playground behind an elementary school in Newark, N.J., on a Saturday night -- Aug. 4 -- when they were ordered to kneel in front of a wall before each was shot in the head.
Terrance Aeriel, Iofemi Hightower and Dashon Harvey were murdered. Natasha Aeriel, Terrance's sister, survived. Barely.

Jose Carranza, an illegal alien from Peru, is one of six suspects. Mr. Carranza pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, attempted murder and robbery. He had been freed on bail after being charged with repeatedly raping a 5-year-old girl and threatening her and her parents, reports Fox News.

The executions have shamed New Jersey finally into ordering law enforcement agencies always to notify federal immigration officials when illegals face serious charges.

File under "Well, duh!"

All states must institute similar policies so no innocent victim pays the ultimate price for the certainly dysfunctional -- and perhaps deadly -- immigration policy the Bush administration pigheadedly continues to execute.
