Democratic Rep. John Lewis said he does not see Donald Trump as a legitimate president on NBC’s “Meet The Press,” saying a Russian “conspiracy” to help him win invalidated the result.

“I believe in forgiveness, I believe in trying to work with people,” he told Chuck Todd in an interview clip published Friday, when asked whether he would “forge” a relationship with Trump. “It’s going to be hard. It’s going to be very difficult. I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president.”

“I think the Russians participated in helping get this man elected,” he added. “And they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton. I don’t plan to attend inauguration. It will be the first one that I miss since I’ve been in the Congress. You cannot be at home with something that you feel that is wrong.”

He's free to do what he wants of course, but it's a disrespectful act, it's a shun of our political system, it makes him look like a stooge of the anti-Russia cabal, one of the anti-Trump sore loser snowflakes, and is very unbecoming of a Civil Rights leader to oppose a President who wants to end illegal immigration, bring our jobs home, put Americans back to work, protect our trade, and rebuild our inner cities, all of which benefits minorities, the poor, and all of the forgotten citizens of our nation.

It's a shame really. But his right not to attend of course.

He's just using this as an excuse for his parties failure to get Hillary over the top. It's funny that the liberals want to scream, cry, and whine about Russia's involvement but want to completely ignore the unscrupulous details of the revealing emails. Hillary's own campaign operatives had more to do with her failed campaign than Russia did.

As a "civil rights leader", John Lewis should attend with pride and support the inauguration of the first President in many decades who wants to help Americans who are suffering in poverty, unemployment and underemployment. But apparently this civil rights "leader" is more interested in the well-being of illegal aliens and foreign Muslims and Rose O'Donnell than he is the 70 million Americans on Medicaid because their net worth is less than $2,000 and their wages if they have a job are so low they qualify under poverty standards.

It's an upside down situation when civil rights leaders support the illegal aliens who are responsible for the low wages, poverty and suffering of so many American citizens, especially black Americans, and oppose a President who wants to fix that problem and get Americans back to work at great jobs with livable wages and good benefits so they can have normal, financially secure lives.
