Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley, a professor at George Washington University Law School, is interviewed by Megyn Kelly on the subject of whether or not Barack Obama is deliberately creating a constitutional crisis.
Turley says that while this process didn’t begin with Obama, it has certainly accelerated under his administration and he has taken it to new levels in terms of the rhetoric. He has, in Turley’s opinion, embraced the concept of going it alone, and defying the other branches of government.
He notes how, unlike most other presidents, Obama has not avoided court fights. He says most presidents have a tendency to do so out of deference to those that would follow them, future presidents. He notes how “this administration has really shown very little restraint in litigating these issues and losing.”

Asked how Obama compares to other presidents, Turley calls the Obama regime a perfect storm of sorts, in that the politics are aligning with the common tendency to become power-drunk while in office.
He describes a toxic political environment, in which this type of confrontation is popular. He reminds us that gridlock is not an excuse for unilateral action, that “there is no license within our system to go it alone.”
He continues, “You have to convince Congress, and if you can’t, then things don’t get done.”
Turley says what we are seeing and what worries him is the rise of the uber presidency, the presidency that can govern alone. Turley says, “That is exactly what the framers were afraid of; they wanted to avoid the concentration of power.”
