Yes, I know we have a specific area on this site for polls but I am not seeing many poll results. Can someone enlighten me on some recent poll numbers regarding illegal immigration?

Sean Hannity was saying that the country is split on amnesty...really?

Every poll I've seen says about 80 to 90% of Americans are dead-set against amnesty.

Beware phony polls. There was a recent Field poll about black Americans feelings towards illegal immigrants. Every poll I've seen before this one said that blacks had the highest NEGATIVE feelings towards illegals of any segment of the U.S. population. But the media was trumpeting this latest Field poll -- it was on the front page of the papers here in the Bay Area -- that supposedly showed strong support for illegals from blacks. According to this phony-baloney poll, 82% of blacks said that illegal immigrants should have the "opportunity" to become citizens. Big deal. About 80% of the country (including me) feels the same way. They should have the opportunity to get in line and wait like eveybody else.

Beware phoney-baloney polls. Reading the tea-leaves is more of an art than a science. And my gut feeling says that the overwhelming majority of Americans are incredibly pi**ed about illegal immigration. And that will be born out in the next election, where we crush any fool politician who's stupid enough to get on the wrong side of this issue.
