House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi sat down with NBC’s Chuck Todd for a pre-game analysis of Tuesday night’s State of the Union address. As one might imagine, Pelosi went all-out Pelosi.
“The point is…under President Obama’s administration, we have eight million jobs created. We have anincome inequalityopportunity gap that the president will be addressing, but let’s remember that this is all George Bush’s fault where we were and how far we have come from the Bush economic policies to where we are now.
[W]e have a large segment of the Republican party that is anti-government. Wewant the largest government we can get away withdon’t want any more government than we need, but they’re anti-government, anti-sciencejust like Democrats are anti-facts and anti-logic, and anti-Obama. They have a trifecta that is going. [Republicans are "anti-science"?]
I say to the Republicans, take back your party. We did not treat President Bush this way,we treated him far worse. This obstruction to President Obama is something quite stunning, and something quite different. So, Chuck, how’d I do?“
They just can’t let George Bush go, can they? But take heart, Republicans; “W” gets to live rent-free in their heads – five years and counting.
Incidentally, not only do more than 6 out of 10 Americans not trust Obama to make the right decisions for the nation; in excess of 50% deem him untrustworthy in general.
