LA: More demonstrations soon: schools and workers
Los Angeles nbc4.tv 6 pm newscast tonight:
1. Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) students (the largest Latino population in the US) are threatening another walkout tomorrow (Mar 30) for Cesar Chavez's birthday. They are passing out flyers and putting notices on MySpace about the walkout and the planning to march to City Hall. School officials want the students to stay in school and will cite them for truancy if they do not have permission from their parents.
2. There will be another protest by pro-illegal activists (mostly Hispanic workers) on April 7 in downtown LA for full rights for all illegals, "legalization para todos", and to halt deportation raids. The spokespeople for this group were confrontational as usual.
JUST BE GLAD YOU DON'T LIVE HERE! IT IS SICKENING TO SEE THIS CRAP ALL THE TIME. EVEN THE NEWSCASTERS SEEM TO BE SLIGHTLY TURNED OFF. CALIFORNIA IS GONE....BUT IT MAY BE COMING TO YOUR CITY.
