Huge LA Times Poll: Trump Takes 7-Point Lead
(Sara D. Davis/Getty Images)Wednesday, 27 Jul 2016 11:34A new national poll released Wednesday shows Donald Trump leading Hillary Clinton by 7 points.
The USC Dornsife/LA Times Presidential Election Daybreak Pollshows:
- Donald Trump: 47 percent
- Hillary Clinton 40 percent
The poll surveyed 3,000 Americans by the Los Angeles Times and the USC Dornsife Center.
Trump's skyrocketing numbers come just three days after the same poll, which is updated daily, showed Trump leading Clinton 45 percent to 41 percent.
And they arrive just hours after Clinton was officially anointed as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee during Day 2 of its convention in Philadelphia.
Trump was tapped the GOP nominee at last week's Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
The Daybreak tracking poll is part of the Understanding America Study conducted by USC's Dornsife Center for Economic and Social Research.

I am intrigued by the recent polling that showed Gary Johnson with nine percent. Time after time the libertarian fringe proves that they are dunderheads. That figure represents a chunk of voters that could be pivotal in states to give Trump the needed electoral votes. In our state we lost a very decent GOP gubernatorial candidate, due to a few 'conservative' splinter parties. They have no real hope of winning. Can they not see the profound crisis that we are in?
I guess the other alternative is that the left voters could be split into factions, as in Jill Stein siphoning off votes. Go ahead: jump off the cliff!!"Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. " David

Captainron, in a follow up to your point about voters and these third parties, a lot of people who support Gary Johnson support him because of the FairTax. If Trump would make a statement that in a Phase II of fixing the tax code, Phase I are the tax cuts which he said he went with over the FairTax because he thought it would be faster and he's probably right on that, he will pursue the FairTax as the new system in Phase II, this would definitely pull a lot of the FairTax Libertarians onto the Trump Train.
Just a thought for getting more of the FairTaxers to vote for Trump who are supporting Gary Johnson for that reason. That's probably 60% of the 9%. So that's another 6% right there. Could make a big difference.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Gary Johnson supports a lot of bad ideas such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), open borders, and illegal immigrant amnesty. So, It's not surprising to see him also support the so-called fair tax plan.
