Larry Ellison gives another $1 million to boost Marco Rubio

Larry Ellison gives another $1 million to boost Marco Rubio

The tech billionaire has given $4 million overall to pro-Rubio super PAC

A super PAC supporting Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign raised $2.5 million in January, including $1 million from tech billionaire Larry Ellison, according to a report filed Saturday with the Federal Election Commission.

The donation from Ellison, the executive chairman of Oracle Corporation, brings his total spending on behalf of Rubio to $4 million, making him among the top donors of the 2016 cycle.

Conservative Solutions PAC spent nearly $11 million last month, mostly on ads and direct mail attacking Rubio’s rival for the Republican presidential nomination Ted Cruz and his former rival Chris Christie, who has since dropped out.

The PAC finished January with $5.6 million in the bank, though it has continued spending heavily since then, dropping $9.6 million on ads opposing Cruz, John Kasich and Jeb Bush, according to daily advertising filings.

Behind Ellison, Conservative Solutions PAC’s next biggest donations in January came from Dallas real estate investor Harlan Crow, Michigan businessman Rich DeVos and North Carolina variety store magnate Art Pope. Each gave $250,000.

Pope, who endorsed Rubio in December, is an influential participant in the network of donors helmed by billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch, who have not waded into the GOP primary.

Rubio’s biggest donor, Florida car dealer Norman Braman, who has donated $6 million to the pro-Rubio super PAC, did not donate in January, nor did Las Vegas casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, who is thought to be leaning towards Rubio.

Trump: Rubio is Big Tech’s ‘Puppet’

Alleges senator, Congress bought off by special interests that want amnesty, more foreign workers

    by Laura Ingraham

“Senator Rubio works for the lobbyists, not for Americans,” Donald Trump said in a post-debate interview. “That is why he is receiving more money than anybody from Silicon Valley.”
After a confusing answer on H-1B visas (for so-called “high-skilled” workers), in which he claimed he had not been critical in the past of pro-amnesty Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Trump moved to clarify his position in comments published on the website Breitbart.com.
Regarding the familiar claims that the technology industry has a dearth of exceptional talent, Trump shot back: “We are graduating two times more students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) than find jobs in those fields every year. We have a surplus of talented Americans and we need them to get jobs first.”
“He is their puppet,” Trump said of Rubio’s relationship with the big tech moguls.
Rubio has made some powerful friends in Silicon Valley.
Rubio’s Gang of Eight Senate immigration bill would have tripled the number of H-1B visas, without the protections for American workers that he frequently references.

Indeed, Rubio has made some powerful friends in Silicon Valley. Billionaire Oracle CEO Larry Ellison has given $3 million to Rubio’s Super PAC and held a July fundraising event for him at his spectacular Woodside estate last July. Ellison is a passionate advocate for so-called “immigration reform,” expanded legal immigration, and expanded allowances for foreign workers.
The CNBC debate exchange between Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Donald Trump on the H-1B or “high-skilled” visas foreshadowed what will become a far more volatile flashpoint in the 2016 GOP primary.
The practice of admitting foreign workers into the U.S. at a time when millions of Americans are out of work is highly controversial. Current rules allow the issuance of 85,000 H-1B visas annually, but if the tech industry had its way, it would remove those caps altogether.
By the tenor of Trump’s post-debate comments on special interest tech money, it is likely he will press the young Florida senator to answer tough questions on the subject. What, if anything, did Rubio promise Ellison on “immigration reform?” On expanding the number of H1-B visas? On working with Democrats to make eventual citizenship for illegal aliens a reality? On expanding legal immigration across the board?
Among industries, the technology sector was very active in the 2012 cycle, giving overwhelmingly to Democrats — $20 million to President Obama, less than half that for Mitt Romney. So far, no candidate has stood out as an Obama-level favorite among the tech giants, but all the top-tier candidates have made swings through the region, in an effort to woo their financial backing. (Bloomberg reported that former GOP front-runner Jeb Bush raised a combined $1.78 million from the tech community.)
On the Democrat side, Hillary Clinton has already logged donations from Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, with more tech fundraising planned in the coming weeks.

Fortunately, Rubio is not eligible to run for President because he's not a natural born citizen under Article II of the US Constitution.

Natural Born Citizen = Born in the USA to 2 US citizens.

Look, you have a man who was given $1M by his father and built a multi-billion dollar company, is self-funding his own campaign for president and is as his son Eric described, " a blue-collar mans president" telling it like it is and rejecting non-sense and stupidity at every level of government policy and spending. On the other side, you have a man who just recently paid off his student loans, has waffled back and forth with the wind on issues and is bought and paid for by anyone or group who has the money. Oh, and not to mention a potential eligibility issue. This too will end badly for Rubio.
