From 2006: Mangos that Glow in the Dark

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgukFLIzOCw

President Bush and India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh gave a joint press conference in New Delhi on March 2, 2006. Bush's proclaimed a "landmark deal" that trades nuclear technology and jobs for Indian mangoes. Animated sequences are mixed in with live video footage from the conference. Bush talked about the nuclear agreement with India, his desire to continue the outsourcing of jobs to India by expanding free trade agreements, and his support for allowing more Indian workers to use H-1B visas to come to work in the U.S.

I remember that fantastic deal. Unfortunately, the mango is closely related botanically to poison ivy, and many people are allergic. Plenty of folks in FL have mango trees, and while I am not allergic, I had to scratch my head over that decision.

    An update from 2008:

GLOBAL PULSE: The India Nuclear Deal - Bending the Rules (10/10/200

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eHj3Gxb ... L&index=49

(October 10, 200 While the worlds focus may be on the global financial meltdown, the U.S and India have signed a historic deal to trade nuclear energy. But, India has never signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation treaty and has tested weapons in the past. So, why now is it okay to trade energy with India and not with a signatory country like Iran?
