Talks about invasion and El Presidente Jorge W. Bush. Also talks about how to take action against corrupt businesses who hire illegals. Good read.

RE: ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Illegal immigration into the Southern States is presently our most serious problem. Politicians seem to care nothing about checking the tide of illegal immigrants coming across our porous border with Mexico. Law enforcement is either too woefully undermanned to halt the flow of illegals or is told to ignore the problem altogether. Citizen initiatives, such as the Minutemen in Arizona, are hooted down by the media and bureaucracy as vigilantism. And for all he has done to address the problem, El Presidente George W. Bush ought rightfully to be called Jorge.

It is no secret that Jorge Bush and the Republican Party favor illegal immigration, at least in part, because it provides a source of cheap labor for their business buddies. But despite support from the GOP, contractors, landscapers, poultry plant owners, and others who regularly employ illegal labor are, in a word, breaking the law. Moreover, they are contributing to a potential health crisis in America by doing so.

Notwithstanding the fact that illegal aliens from the Third World are threatening to displace Southerners and their culture, they are bringing with them diseases that were eradicated in the States decades ago. On my local TV news recently, I saw a report in which public school children in the Tennessee Valley were being tested for tuberculosis (TB), a disease that has not threatened Alabamians for about half a century. TB and numerous other exotic contagious maladies (including leprosy) are making a comeback courtesy of our lax enforcement of immigration laws. Is this not enough, in and of itself, to get the attention of our Southern brothers and sisters?

So what we have here is a case of blatant disregard of the law and a potential public health crisis stemming from it. This doesn't even take into account the likelihood of al Qaeda terrorists sneaking across our Southern border. In short, we have a potential crisis on our hands.

Having had all our political and legal avenues closed off, what can we in the League and the Southern Movement do to effectively address the problem of illegal immigration? How about taking the economic route? I suggest that every State and local League chapter-and every single League member-make it a priority to discover local businesses that actually or allegedly employ illegal aliens. Once a business is identified, then every effort should be made to publicize its actions to the public and hold it accountable under law. And remember, the proof that a worker is not illegal falls on the business. That business owners have been deceived by phony cards and papers is not an excuse for violating the law.

Publicizing the facts can be done, for instance, by enlisting the help of a local or statewide radio talk show host who is sympathetic to our position on this issue. It can also be done by taking out ads on local radio and TV and in the newspapers. Moreover, the offending businesses can be bombarded with phone calls, faxes, and e-mails. They can be subjected to embarrassing sidewalk or roadside demonstrations. Thousands of flyers can be distributed locally. Law-abiding competitors likely will be eager to help, even if covertly. This is economic guerrilla warfare; thus we need to use unconventional and unexpected methods to keep the enemy off balance.

I also recommend that we place a section on our www.dixienet.org website to report business culprits all across the South. That way, we can from time to time target certain ones to receive the full weight of the Southern Movement's protests.

This statement is a call by the League for immediate action on this matter.
