    Letter from Bill Frist

I got this today form Senator Bill Frist. You can't believe a word that comes out of these Senators mouths .
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Today the Senate overwhelmingly passed legislation to secure America's homeland by funding vital activities of the Department of Homeland Security and confronting the challenges facing our borders, ports, and transit systems.

By providing more than $14 billion specifically to strengthen our nation’s borders, we took another important step to bolster our frontline defenses against illegal border crossings.

Under this legislation, the Republican Congress will add 2,000 new border patrol agents (bringing the total to 14,320) and increase the number of detention beds by 5,000 (bringing the total to 25,300) in the next fiscal year– all done in an effort to combat illegal immigration.

I look forward to working with the House to produce a final piece of legislation so that the President can quickly sign into a law a bill funding America’s homeland and border security needs.

    Bill Frist

Uhuh, I didn't think I had hallucinated that.

(edit) I think we better make sure to hang on to those articles about how the Senate decided to not fund this and the list of who voted which way.

Seems to me like if they are saying they are going to fund it but have already voted not to ..... well politicians these days certainly do not have my confidence and I'm very suspicious (sp?).

They voted for a fence before they VOTED AGAINST IT.

Well, you'll notice that he didn't say anything about a fence, did he?

You need to have a team of lawyers going over everything these liars say to identify all the loopholes they leave for themselves.

Of course I noticed, that's why I asked about them voting against the funding for the fence.

I also noticed, not surprisingly they voted to give themselves a raise.

Must be nice. Who would NOT vote to give themselves a raise?

Of course you know it because you pay attention to these things, but you're in the minority. I imagine that most of the people who receive this message won't have heard a thing about it.

All they'll know is that Good Ol' Bill Frist and those hard nosed Republican Senators are looking out for them, by God!
