The DREAM Act would help our military, which faces a serious recruitment crisis. Under the DREAM Act, tens of thousands of well-qualified potential recruits would become eligible for military service. Defense Department officials have said that the DREAM Act is "very appealing" to the military because it would apply to the "cream of the crop" of students. They have concluded that the DREAM Act would be good for readiness.

They can still do this if they follow the proper channels. This used to be a very common practice for the Fillipinos; especially in the Navy.

So, let me get this straight...Come to this country and get paid under the table or use a fake/stolen SS# w/ mucho dependents so you do not have to pay any taxes, get tax payer funded medical, social benefits, and if you break any law that requires jail tiime you get sent across the border only to return again as someone else. But you DON'T have to register for SELECTIVE SERVICE, pay the taxes legals have too, accountable for proper driving and insureance papers, etc. I'm sure they would all just flood to the states if they could sign up for Selective Service.

Furthermore, family members of DREAM Act applicants would remain ineligible for legal status.

That says it all for me.
