The Federation of Immigration (FAIR) reported on 10-25-07 that

"AgJobs (S. 340) which would grant amnesty to illegal alien farm
workers, is back again and is likely to be brought to the Senate
floor as early as next week".

The pro-amnesty lobby is determined to force their agenda down
our throats despite the devastation it will cause - these people
must hate America! But remember, its not the illegals who
have bought out our Congress, its lobby groups like the US
Chamber of Commerce(CoC) who make ridiculously exaggerated
claims about the "necessity" of illegal alien labor as being
    "the backbone of America".

We have an abundance of LEGAL Americans, of all races, who will
gladly grow food and process it legally if paid a decent wage.
Tyson foods could find them, as could any legimate business. Only
cheaters "need" illegals. The unemployment rate among
African-American males in US inner cities exceeds 50%.

The US CoC tells us "Americans won't do those jobs". Well, it's
time to put them on public record and hear them explain why
they think those African-Americans, and practically all the rest
of us, are "too lazy, dumb, unwilling, or whatever" to want
a job. How insulting! Have these agribusiness reached out to
the communities to encourage them to take jobs? No!
And why not? Are these businesses prejudiced towards certain
Americans? Not that they are kind to the illegals, remember
Caesar Chavez, the "Grapes of Wrath", and the boycotts?
    CA agribusiness has been ruthless.

Why are so many US family farms going under? Maybe because
they can't compete with an illegal labor force? How is it a
fair or just "free market" when big agribusiness is indirectly
subsidized by US taxpayers who pick of the enormous tab for the
social cost of illegals? Wouldn't it be cheaper (for consumers)
in the long run to pay honest farmers a fair wage so we get
safe food legally? If the existing system is such a great deal
for consumers, why so many recalls of tainted food?

I can buy tomatoes in my supermarket imported from Canada.
They are cheaper and better than what comes from California.
Locally grown produce is even better and it keeps money in
the community. At $2 a pound, it's possible to make a profit
growing hothouse tomatoes even in cold climates. I can buy
excellent grapes directly imported from Chile. I am not
racist; I feel very good about free trade with people who sell
us good products without breaking our laws. If nothing else,
we can bring back local farms, have our own "victory gardens",
and re-learn how to can food. We really can live without Tyson
foods or CA grapes, can't we?

I buy tomatoes directly from Mexico because it's legal and fair
competition, plus the Mexican people are generally good people.
I get a good product at a lower price than what I get from CA
and TX growers running these illegal-exploitation farms.
Wouldn't it help Mexico more if we give its people an opportunity
to grow food for us while living with their families at home in
their own country? They might run a business every bit as well
as the US growers - but maybe that's exactly what the US growers
    fear - fair competition.

Here is a new idea for fighting back - please spread the word
because the special interests will do everything they can to
squelch it when they realize the people have a way to fight back:

BOYCOTT PRODUCE GROWN BY US AGRIBUSINESS!
Make them cry uncle! Unless they can show honest efforts to
report illegals and obey US laws as they now are in place,
    don't buy from them.

Seem's to me that "free enterprise" gives us consumers the right
to buy, or not to buy, from whomever we please. We can't stop
our corrupt Congress until we vote them out, but we can sure
put the fear of God into the corrupt agribusiness lobby - we
can run them out of business.

The GOP has abandoned us, the Democratic Party has abandoned us,
but there is yet still one more "party". It's time we have
another "Boston Tea Party", but this time it will be a boycott
of the agribusiness lobbyists who have installed a corrupt
Congress that is destroying our country.

    Let's roll!

I usually am a Buy America practitioner, but this seems like a good idea. After all, we advocate boycotting other businesses that hire/support illegals, for example - Millers beer and Bank of America. The farmers are the ones hollering the loudest for more illegals to be brought in. Lets see if we can make a difference.

This past spring we built a greenhouse next to our garage. With the e-coli scares, we decided it would be prudent to grow our own vegetables year round and alot less expensive.

We're in the Northeast and will be able to enjoy fresh produce year round. It will pay for itself and neighbors are looking to see how it will work for us this winter. Hopefully we'll have a full house and even enough to share with friends and neighbors!
