    1. Are you familiar with the term "birthright citizenship?"
Yes, it refers to automatic citizenship being granted to children of illegal aliens who are born here.
This survey helped me understand what birthright citizenship means.
No, I'm not yet clear what this term means.

    2. Would you support a simple bill in Congress to end the practice of birthright citizenship for illegal aliens and tourists?
Yes, I absolutely support ending birthright citizenship by Congressional legislation.
    Not sure about it.
No, I don't think we should change birthright citizenship.

    3. Some people claim that ending the practice of birthright citizenship would require some alteration of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. If federal courts eventually decided this step is necessary to end birthright citizenship, would you support altering the 14th Amendment for this purpose?
Yes, absolutely support altering the 14th Amendment for this purpose.
    Not sure about it.
No, would not want to alter the 14th Amendment.

    4. How important is it to you personally to end the practice of granting automatic U.S. citizenship to babies born to illegal aliens and tourists?
Extremely important--one of my top immigration goals.
    Somewhat important.
I oppose birthright citizenship, but it's not worth the trouble of changing.
Not important--I don't support changing birthright citizenship.

    5. What steps are you willing to take to end birthright citizenship?
    None--I will not take action.
I will send NumbersUSA faxes to Congress.
I will send the faxes plus make some phone calls as necessary.
I will do whatever it takes.

Survey's In--98 percent of NumbersUSA members oppose birthright citizenship

Thousands answer our new survey; almost all strongly desire to end granting automatic citizenship to offspring of illegal aliens

    Dear xxxx,

Hi. It's Jim again, speaking for Roy and all our great NumbersUSA team.

One of the top goals we've had since the founding of NumbersUSA 15 years ago has been ending so-called "birthright citizenship." You know what I mean. Offspring born to illegal immigrants and even tourists are currently granted automatic U.S. citizenship.

Over the last couple of years, I've received hundreds of emails from members frustrated about this absurd practice. Many members have told me that being born in the U.S. of illegal parents is like "winning the lottery." Unfortunately, there are way too many winners of this lottery.

Did you know that 340,000 babies born to illegal alien women automatically became U.S. citizens last year? These babies are often referred to as "anchor babies" because they are often responsible for large families later coming into America legally. Here's how it works.

If an illegal alien or tourist gives birth while in America, her child is currently granted automatic U.S. citizenship. Because the child is considered a citizen, the government is generally reluctant to deport the illegal alien parent(s). Further, once the child has become of age, he/she can sponsor relatives such as brothers and sisters for U.S. citizenship. They, in turn, can sponsor their spouses, their spouses' parents, etc. On and on. Preposterous, but true.

A couple of days ago, I asked myself, "Do our members feel as strongly as I do about ending birthright citizenship?" I put together a survey about it and placed it on our website. That was only yesterday. In less than 24 hours, more than 5,000 members have filled out the survey. Yes, you members have spoken. And your views are just about unanimous!

    > > > Ninety-eight percent of our members say they "absolutely" want to end birthright citizenship! < < <

    (edit)

Backa to the survey results. Fully 93 percent of our members say ending birthright citizenship is "very important--one of my top immigration goals."

More surpringingly, 98% of members taking the survey said they "absolutely support" Congress passing a law to end birthright citizenship. (Did you know that there ALREADY IS SUCH A BILL PROPOSED IN CONGRESS? It's H.R. 1868, and NumbersUSA has been on a mission to force Congress to pass this law.

We believe a simple Congressional bill can end this problem, but some think that the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution will have to be somewhat altered to stop the practice (note--altered, not recinded!).

90% of our members told us that they "absolutely supported" altering the 14th Amendment if that's what it took to end birthright citizenship.

For many years, it seemed nearly impossible to get the political forces together needed to stop anchor babies. Establishment politicians scoffed at us. We could gain no traction. Almost overnight, however, momentum on this issue has shifted sharply in our direction. At least xx U.S. Senators, xx Governors, and at least one presidential candidate, has come out for the abolition of this absurd and self-defeating practice.

NumbersUSA is the leading organization pushing to end the practice of birthright citizenship. Last week the Austin, Texas newspaper, the American-Statesman, called NumbersUSA the nation's leading opponent of birthright citizenship.

Our president, Roy Beck, has gotten tremendous nationwide press by exposing the fact that ONLY the United States and Canada, among advanced countries, still grant automatic citizenship to the offspring of illegal immigrants. All the other modern nations, such as Great Britain, France, Australia, Italy, have revoked this riduculous custom.

Mark this prediction down if you want to hold me accountable. I believe that if we exhert maximum pressure to abolish birthright citizenship, we could taste victory in the next three years or so. THAT IS, IF WE'RE WILLING TO DO OUR PART!!!

In the survey, 98% of members said they would take action to birthright citizenship. They would send faxes, and make phone calls. And 21% even agreed with the statement, "I will do whatever it takes."

    > > > NumbersUSA is literally pouring everything we have into the effort to end birthright citizenship. WE'RE doing whatever it takes. Are YOU willing to do whatever it takes? < < <

    Thank you.

    Survey completed!

Birthright citizenship is bad enough, but the extended chain migration of the anchor babies family members is literally like inviting dozens and dozens of people into America illegally, who then can EACH go get their own welfare and a boat load of other tax dollar benefits from a nation whose jobs are stolen by the same illegal aliens who work for CASH under the table so they can "be on vacation" mostly off America's tax dollar benefits THAT DO NOT BELONG TO THEM!

This should have ended much more than a century ago.

Every opponent to this should be forced to go home for a month, have their keys taken away, their locks removed from their doors and windows, with huge signs on their home that says "Everyone welcome. Just open the door and help yourself to everything inside" - with their family living inside the home.

THAT is what is happening to the communities and neighborhoods where these ultra rich idiots don't have to live.
