Naomi Estrada Weber
Naomi Estrada Weber passed away on May 19, 2007, from a sudden and unexpected stroke. She is survived by her husband, Michael Weber; her children, Patricia Valenzuela Giffney, Alice Valenzuela Nolden, Absalom Valenzuela and Cynthia Valenzuela Dixon; step-children, Melissa Weber and Andrew Weber; her sisters, Juanita Quiroz and Anna Huron. Naomi was a grandmother to seven children and two great-grandchildren, as well as an aunt, cousin, and faithful friend. Naomi was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1940. She lived the majority of her life in Tucson. Naomi attended Tucson High School and graduated from Pueblo High School in 1959. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in 1963, and later received her Ph.D. in Education. After a 32-year career as a dedicated teacher, she recently retired. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at Southside Presbyterian Church, (Rev. John Fife's Sanctuary Church)317 W. 23rd Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, 634 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles, California, 90014. Naomi lived life to its fullest. She loved to dance, laugh, travel, listen to music, learn new languages, make new friends and be with people. We love her dearly, and she will be greatly missed.
