This is what goes for tough talk on illegal immigration at the White House: We'll offer permanent work permits, permanent residency and path to citizenship to illegal aliens but if they don't sign up, they just have to go home.

With their tens of millions of foundation dollars, the open-border groups did polling last year that found that if they talked about "demanding" that illegal aliens sign up for an amnesty, they could confuse a few more Americans into telling pollsters they could support legalization.

So, the word from White House spokesman Nick Shapiro this week was not surprising language -- but it was kind of funny:

They should have to register, pay a penalty for breaking the law and meet other obligations of legal immigrants such as learning English and paying taxes, or leave the country,â€

George Bush was claiming that the funds to build the border fence were going to come from the penalties and fees paid by illegals getting a pathway to citizenship. Of course they didn't explain how long the process of gathering the fees and using them to finance border construction was going to take (several years?) during which time the border was going to stay open for more illegals to pass through. This was also during the time that Bush started to develop that weird little "stammer" that ruined alot of his public speeches; he was also over in India telling their Prime Minister that Americans were going to be thrown out of their jobs so that poor Asian Indians could have them.

Make me laugh. They are so clueless. Illegal aliens are dishonest. Such a simple concept but so hard for people with Ivy League degrees to understand.

A few lettuce pickers will sign up for amnesty then go get a better job(restaurant & fast food), the rest will just remain rapist, sex trafficking (of minors), thieves, terrorists, drug smugglers, gang bangers but most importantly, illegal immigration will continue to plague this country, especially with crime.

"WAR ON DRUGS" was in response to AMNESTY!!!!!

Strict enforcement of existing laws is the only answer.

That's like telling a tax cheat: "keep the past money and only pay 80% of future taxes, or go to jail". Why would anyone pay all there taxes?
