To War! To War! – Nevermind Russian promise of Armageddon over Syria – Martin Dempsey’s Five Options for War with Syria – None of which involve cessation of hostilities

    Thursday, July 25, 2013 4:46
    (Before It's News)

In a July 22 article by Chris Carroll , The US military online news site Stars and Stripes provides a review of US war plans against Syria as outlined in a letter by Chief of Staff General Martin Dempsey addressed to the US Congress.

Dempsey outlined five options for U.S. military action in the Syrian conflict:

    * The least involved – a train, advise and assist mission – would require no U.S. troops to be directly involved with fighting as they delivered supplies and training to opposition fighters, Dempsey said.

Translation – continue training and equipping the rebel terrorists and facilitating aid and personnel from major non NATO Arab allies, while upping the anti with direct USA and NATO military hardware deliveries.

    * A second option, limited stand-off strikes, would target “high-value regime air defense, air, ground, missile, and naval forces as well as the supporting military facilities and command nodes,” with strikes launched from beyond Syrian borders. “Depending on duration, the costs would be in the billions,” Dempsey wrote.

Translation – WW3 risking level naval and missile bombardment of Syrian and Russian infrastructure even within densely populated areas causing absolute hell on earth for anyone living in Syria, and tens of thousands of casualties just in the short term, and trillions of dollars of damage to Syria. Sinking of Syrian vessels in port and at sea would further risk war with Russian naval forces present in Mediterranean.

    * A third option, establishing a no-fly zone, would go further, taking out Syrian air-defenses to control the skies throughout the country. Because U.S. aircraft would be required to fly over Syrian airspace, the risk to U.S. troops would be higher, Dempsey said.

Translation – WW3 triggering level hellish bombardment of Syrian state and civilian infrastructure, targeting airports, military bases, air defenses, likely as was the case in Libya, schools and universities, even apartment complexes, whole city blocks will be bombed to rubble by relentless Nato air sorties, leveling to smoldering corpse strewn rubble much of what is left of Syrian civilization.

    * The U.S. military could also establish buffer zones to protect Turkey’s or Jordan’s borders, or to protect Syrian civilians, Dempsey wrote. Doing would require partial no-fly zones and carry many of the same risks and costs.

Translation – Internment areas will be set up to block Syrians wishing to flee the conditions inside Syria and will be faced with life in refugee camps with only option to stay in deplorable conditions with no hope or return to a Syria under fire. Even conditions within the refugee camps could presumably be war-zone conditions under shelling by Syrian rebels posing as Syrian army to justify further NATO bombardment on Syrian soil.

    * The fifth and most complex option Dempsey outlined, controlling chemical weapons, would require a no-fly zone, air and missile strikes, and thousands of troops on the ground.

Translation – Tens of thousands of NATO troops already stationed in Jordan, Turkey, and in the Mediterranean, as well as massive airlifts, will pour into bombed out Syrian military facilities taking and holding ground with the goal of securing the country fully into NATO control, end the war, and pose as heroes after having “elected” a dictator of their choosing. Casualties on the Syrian side including the naval and Ariel bombardment leading up to full invasion scale would reach into the hundreds of thousands of dead innocent Syrians in near term.
Dempsey’s response, released on Monday, focused on Syria, stressing that the decision on military action is not his to make.

“The decision over whether to introduce military force is a political one that our Nation entrusts to its civilian leaders,” he wrote. “I also understand that you deserve my best military advice on how military force could be used in order to decide whether it should be used. “

And, Dempsey warned, the U.S. should be prepared to deal with the aftermath of any military action.

“Once we take action, we should be prepared for what comes next,” he said. “Deeper involvement is hard to avoid.” (Star and Stripes, July 22, 2013)

Translation – Dempsey can wage this war on whatever level is deemed fit, and is fully prepared to do so, takes no responsibility for the consequences, and leaves the decision to congress or commander in chief Obama to make. One option left out is reversal and disarmament of the rebel forces. Also lacking is the glaring reality of the bigger picture involved in this with it being a proxy war with Russia. A war Russia has promised will lead to WW3 if not reversed. For Dempsey to not even give an option for reversal of this entire crooked war campaign is deplorable, and for him to seemingly wash his hands of responsibility for the consequences of continued warmongering reaks of treason, especially when factoring in the WW3 risking seriousness of continued or escalated war on Syria barely even mentioned in the lamestream media.

The broader consequences of US military action are not addressed by General Dempsey.

Military observers have emphasized that at least four of these options including a limited no fly zone could lead to a war with Iran as well as confrontation with Russia, which is supporting Syria’s air defense system. Direct U.S.-NATO military intervention in Syria could potentially lead to a regional war which has been on the drawing board of the Pentagon since 2003.

I would also add, that president Assad was elected by democratic election in Syria, even with international monitors ensuring a fair election. To top that, Assad had and continues to hold a far greater popular support in Syria than Obama has now in America. How can a country that forces its supposedly altruistic system of government on another justify it when they already posses a more democratic, fair, and just system? Does anyone on Earth still believe this great lie that they come in peace with guns blazing??? Please Dempsey just leave Syria alone, tell them there is just one option, reverse this war agenda completely or face world war as promised by Russian brass!

    http://blogdogcicle.blogspot.ca/2013...eter_1248.html

Is a false flag imminent with Syrian chemical weapons? Will Russia declare war on NATO? Is hellish nuclear war inevitable? Trying to make sense of a senseless conflict.

(Stone) Many of us have watched in disbelief as Syria has been infiltrated and attacked mercilessly, we’ve watched the lies and disinformation spreading fear and hatred, and this notion that the USA and its European and NATO allies should be in good conscience supporting the foreign mercenary invasion and destruction of Syria. While this has been going on we’ve seen Russian military planners patiently argue about NATO encirclement, and warning us that Syria and specifically the leased deep water port in Tartus was critical to there deterrence and the continued balance of mutually assured destruction. Russian military brass repeatedly warn that this path in Syria can only lead to world war. What is at stake is more than witnessing yet another once proud and sovereign nation reduced to ruin, its populace murdered in the streets, and there land and resources pillaged, what we are witnessing in Syria could be no less then the beginning of nuclear Armageddon. Beginning back in 2008 we have heard rumors of a CIA plot inside Syria to arm and fund would be terrorists protesting Assad’s Syrian government. It is worth mentioning that Syria has and still desperately clings to a modern democratic system based on values of human rights and self determination, and Al-Assad was elected as President of Syria in 2000 and again in 2007, unopposed each time. Unable to gain much headway as far as funding political and protest movements in a colored revolution style takeover, NATO and USA warmongers have turned to this new Libyan styled terrorist proxy war of attrition, funneling arms and terrorists into Syria to weaken it, and to destroy the peoples faith in the government while spreading lies and fear. The media campaign globally to paint Assad’s Syria as the villain in this so called civil war has reached such a fever pitch that one may wonder if anyone on Earth even believes a word of it anymore. Being a NATO member-state and bordering Syria, Turkey has always been instrumental in Washingtons war plans. As many of you already know, NATO article 5 simply put is collective defense, an attack on any NATO country is a declaration of war on all NATO member-states as a whole.

Article 5 of the Washington Treaty States:

The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the UN Charter, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

Any such armed attack and all measures taken as a result thereof shall immediately be reported to the Security Council. Such measures shall be terminated when the Security Council has taken the measures necessary to restore and maintain international peace and security.

If it can be shown that Turkey was attacked by Syria, all NATO states will be treaty bound to come to its aid by whatever means necessary. Now we know that just as with Iran, Syria would never initiate an act of war that would guarantee there absolute destruction, but we also know that it would be very easy to stage such an attack, Turkey could even be attacked by the very F.S.A. rebels it harbors and trains at Washington’s behest to wage the war of terror on Syria. You may recall the false flag mortar attack on Turkish soil that nearly precipitated this broader war, this can be seen as a trial run and to set the stage for conflict on the Syrian Turkish border. Now we see patriot missile batteries and NATO troops in the border region, and more troops massed in Jordan, Israel, and on Naval armadas offshore.A relentless campaign to convince the masses that a chemical attack by Syrian army on its own population or FSA “rebels” is imminent continues as the final pieces are placed on the board. In Davoes we are told by Debkafile that “comments by US President Barack Obama and Ambassador Dan Shapiro lack a US commitment to step in against the Syrian chemical threat. Obama is concerned with juggling his global military priorities against a shrinking defense budget. The onus for coping with the chemical peril is being passed by Washington to Turkey, Jordan and Israel. US aid will be confined to setting targets, providing intelligence and coordinating Israeli-Turkish-Jordanian military operations if necessary to take control of the dangerous arsenal.” This can be seen as just carefully worded bullshit by a Mossad front in cahoots with American warmongers. Washington has set the stage, they can pretend to be neutral all they want, they have caused all this mess and are just waiting to be called to Turkeys aid when the fireworks go off. However, there is a clear and present danger being ignored at the peril of every man women and child on Earth, the inevitability of a NATO war on Syria quickly spiraling into a nuclear war of unimaginable horror over the shattered balance of mutually assured destruction.

1.Lindsey Graham is an complete idiot, now that Obama has blown his load on Syria, we have lost the initiative on Iran and this will almost certainly toughen their resolve and world opinion will now take their side regardless of questions of rumored Nuclear weapons being developed. Thanks to Obama's bad policy decision, we may have to except a nuclear armed Iran just like N.Korea.

    2. Iran is not Iraq, they are Persians not Arabic and highly Nationalistic. Even though most Iranians have a love of American culture and are not crazy about their Theocratic government, attacking them will unite them. Iran is over twice the size of Iraq and has twice the population. Iran could mobilize "up to one million men". This would be among the largest troop mobilizations in the world. Even though we could establish air superiority over Iran, to effect a regime change would require a land invasion. IMO this is a war we cannot win. Of course the real reason attacking them is their Oil & Gas reserves same reason as Syria.

    3. Iran has the largest proved gas reserves in the world, with 33.6 trillion cubic metres.[18] It also ranks third in oil reserves. It is OPEC's 2nd largest oil exporter and is an energy superpower
