First Lady Melania Kicks Off Trump's Florida Rally With Lord's Prayer

First lady Melania Trump opened her husband's rally in Florida on Saturday with the Lord's Prayer and a promise to pursue initiatives for "women and children around the world."


She also said she would "always stay true to myself, and be truthful to you."



Melania, who lives in New York away from her husband as their son Barron finishes out the school year, has been by the president's side for many events throughout his first month in Washington.



She was in Washington, D.C., last week for the first time as a host to help President Donald Trump welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and was also in Palm Beach, Florida, when Trump hosted Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe the week before.


"I'm committed to creating and supporting initiatives dear to my heart, which will have impact on women and children all around the world," she said to a cheering crowd.


She also said her husband "is creating a country of great safety and prosperity."



Franklin Graham, an evangelist and missionary, praised Melania for opening with the Lord's Prayer.



"Has this ever happened in American politics before?" Graham wrote on his Facebook page.



"In Melbourne, Florida, today, First Lady Melania Trump read the Lord’s Prayer before introducing her husband, President Donald J. Trump. Three cheers for her! And may God bless our country!"

It’s Not Trump That Needs Rallies, It’s Us…. Sometimes pictures just speak for themselves. There’s a disconnect amid the proletariat class that just simply don’t understand; and unfortunately, they probably never will:

“You know what the best thing about all this is? Trump supporters aren’t starstruck. They’re not there to see a celebrity or a political icon. They’re there to see one of their own, just a man who’s fighting for them.


The deplorables enthusiasm & emotional zeal comes from the heart, it comes from the absolute excitement of hearing an actual warrior who fights for them & stands on principle, honor & integrity.

Celebrity worship & shallow platitude ingesting is the leftists domain. The brainwashed masses eat up what their handlers feed them


But what we see here is actual Americans concerned about their country & how ecstatic they are that a real leader with real leadership capabilities is finally looking out for their interests
There’s no ideological global nonsense involved. It’s simply people who want jobs, safe communities & a country with a viable future
It’s nothing more than Americans cheering for America.

Report from Melbourne Police Department says there 9,000 squeezed into the hangar and Fox says that is just the people inside the hangar, that there were thousands and thousands more outside who couldn't get in.

I know these rallies are so important to us both for Trump and the people. The separation the media causes isolates us, so these rallies are very very important. They energize our Trump Train!!

That guy that got up on the stage was AWESOME! He was on Fox News this morning. What a guy

I saw that, he was also on CNN if you can believe that!! He was wonderful on both shows. It was so cute when CNN asked him what would he like to say to the President, he said great things and then asked CNN to be "a little bit nicer to our President".

What a doll of a person. His name is Gene Huber from Brooklyn, New York. He flew down, stayed in a motel and got up at 2:45 am, got ready and took a cab to the event to be first in line.

I think the whole thing was a bit of a flop. It was just the same old campaign speech and all the tension that was there before he actually won is completely gone. He is the president. He needs new material if he is going to do rallies like this some more. And I think continuing to have rallies like this might be a good idea, as long as it is safe to do it. But he has to get new material. Otherwise his weekly addresses are exciting enough for me.
