Trump supporters joyous before and after Nashville rally

March 15, 2017
Thousands of President Donald Trump's fans gave him a rock-star welcome to Music City on Wednesday night. For many of them his 40-minute speech was the triumphant finale of a day spent cheering, chanting and loading up on Trump gear.
Supporters started gathering outside Municipal Auditorium before sunrise, more than 12 hours before he took the stage for a speech that celebrated his first 50 days in the White House. Their optimism was palpable throughout the day, as they waited in the bracing cold in a line that twisted along the city's downtown blocks and to the Capitol.

Trump's transition and early days in office have been criticized by some as haphazard. But for many in the crowd outside the Nashville rally, Trump's first days in office represented a series of promises kept.
Ted Phipps, a Jackson man who came to Nashville on Wednesday with his wife, said he had been a lifelong Democrat until he voted for Trump last year. Trump's business experience and pledges to upturn the federal establishment had won him over.
"So far, so good," Phipps said hours before the speech.
Nearby, Jessica Fiveash's wardrobe said it all. She had a "Trump 45" beanie pulled over her ears, a Melania Trump button pinned to her coat, and she was wearing a shirt from Ivanka Trump's clothing line.
"He came in like a wrecking ball," Fiveash said. "He's doing awesome. Give him a shot."
Tension briefly rippled through the crowd when a group of protesters marched by the auditorium. The supporters and protesters attempted to drown each other out with competing chants — Trump fans chanted his name and "USA!" on one side of James Robertson Parkway while the protesters on the other side said, "Donald Trump has got to go."
But the demonstrations seemed to remain largely peaceful, and several conversations even cropped up between protesters and supporters.
Steve and Lauren Hall, of Williamsport, Tenn., paused before a line of chanting protesters as they were leaving after the speech. Lauren Hall wiped tears from her eyes, overcome by emotion after seeing the president. Her husband stopped to hug one of the protesters.
"It doesn't matter if he doesn't think the same way I do," Steve Hall said. "We're all one nation."

Sean Spicer Receives ‘Jonas Brother’ Rock Star Welcome by Supporters at Trump Nashville Rally

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was given a rock star welcome by supporters at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium Wednesday evening at a rally being held by President Donald Trump.
Photos and reports by reporters at the rally show Spicer being swarmed by well-wishers as he ventured on to the floor of the arena to check in with the press before the rally. One reporter, Julie Davis with the New York Times, likened the reception for Spicer to a member of the Jonas Brothers rock band.

It is said that President Trump gets re-energized at his rallies by the enthused cheers of support from the thousands in attendance. Perhaps Spicer, who has been mocked by Saturday Night Live for his briefings and was videotaped being harassed by a liberal while shopping at an Apple store recently, will get a similar charge from the Nashville rally.

I know that made Sean Spicer feel really good, they just love him! He tries so hard to do a good job with that awful CORRUPT SNIVELING MEDIA that hates America. Yes, the media hates America.
That's why seeing our Trump Supporters who LOVE AMERICA is such a wonderful day in America. I love Trump Rallies so much!!! They give me hope and encouragement, they ground ya from all the craziness and nonsense.A Nation Without Borders Is Not A Nation - Ronald Reagan

Confusion, security cause long lines at Trump rally
Kirk A. Bado , USA TODAY NETWORK

President Trump shared his optimism about introducing a bill that would repeal and replace Obamacare at an event in Nashville.
Half an hour before President Donald Trump was set to speak at his Nashville rally at Municipal Auditorium, the second tier of the stadium was all but empty.
Doors for the rally opened at 3:30 p.m. and the earliest supporters lined up outside the auditorium around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, with thousands of people braving the cold throughout the day. Even after the auditorium started letting fans in, lines for the rally still snaked around the stadium minutes before Trump was originally scheduled to deliver his remarks.
Musical acts and big name speakers like U.S. Senator Bob Corker stalled for time to allow the upper tier seats to fill before the president delivers his speech. But the show had to go on, the campaign only had the auditorium booked through 9.
Trump took to the stage and acknowledged the supporters still trickling in around him and the hundreds of people still waiting outside.
"So, we're just going to let the other folk come in, fill it up, this is some crowd you should see what's outside. Unbelievable." Trump said when he began his speech.
Security delays might have caused a backlog of fans as they went through the screening process.
As of 6 p.m., people were still filtering in and the line to the door stretched back several blocks. Some fans left disheartened because they ended up standing in lines for hours that ultimately led nowhere.

Todd Pembroke, 39, of Nashville is a Trump supporter. He arrived at the auditorium around 5:00 p.m. to attend the rally but ultimately decided to not wait in the mile long line.
"From what I noticed everyone wanted to come out and show support, but because the line was so long, I decided to go have a drink instead," he said.
Even after the relatively short speech concluded, there were still long lines of supporters waiting for a chance to enter the stadium. After waiting for hours, they were still left in the cold when Trump sped off to Air Force One.
Municipal Auditorium has a capacity of nearly 10,000.

Such a shame they couldn't all get in, that nice big auditorium rented by the campaign and Trump Supporters left out in the cold. "SAD!"
