    A question....

I have a small question that if anyone can give me a some kind of answer to calm my nerves... Im a young white female and im in love with a beautiful hispanic man and we are worried about his situation.. His family illegally brough him here when he was 8 he has no social or anything here. Hes been going to school since 3rd grade i believe, and graduated high school here and everything. He was guna go away to collage but because of his situation could not, and is attending comunity collage as a last resort. Hes worked here at more than one job and has NEVER gotten introuble with the law.... Now hes almost 19 and we dont know what to do.. is he still considered illegal? What can we do to start his legalization? I am/we are willing to do anything to make sure nothing happens and to get him whatever he needs to become an american citizen. Please someone tell me something ? i dont want anything to happen to my baby. [/b]

    Amby,

The answer is very simple. Have your sweetheart apply for college in the Country he is a citizen of. Most countries are more than happy to accept students educated in America.

If he returns home, all your worries are over and you have no reason to "fear" your poor baby having to get on a bus or plane to take a trip back to his own nation which is his home.

amby, let me tell you a little secret. You are young and there are literally thousands of other potential choices for you to settle down with. If you think you would seriously consider marrying an illegal alien, perhaps you should read the tale of woe of some who have gone before you.

It is one thing to have a boyfriend but quite another to become entwined in any permanent way with an illegal alien. The chances that he or his family, who will take him with them if they care about him at all rather than leave him here to live on the streets alone, is great because people all over this country are actively seeking reasons to have illegals deported.

If you get involved by marriage or the common bond of a kid togehter, you are doomed to a lousy life right along with the illegal alien you care about. The kindest thing you could do for yourself and for this guy is to look for an American boyfriend with no strings attached. The kindest thing he could do for you, if he cares for you at all, is walk away and never look back until such time as he goes home and applies for and obtains US citizenship. I guarantee you, by the time that happens, you both will have moved on to more realistic partners.

hi amby.. to answer your question about your boyfriend. unfortunately he is still considered an illegal no matter how long he has been here. if you were to marry him right now to give him papers it may not make a difference. the way the law is right now, he would have had to enter legally into this country originally, then no matter what his status was right now if you were married and petition him he would become legal. it used to be anyone who got married to a citizen could get papers that way, u just had to pay a fine if you came here illegally but they changed that i believe in 2001

Unfortunately b/c his parents BROKE THE LAW he will suffer.
They had ample enough time to apply for green cards and
get things in motion so their beloved son could stay and become
a productive AMERICAN but like many illegals their tie to "home"
and "mexico" is so strong they don't want to give that up.

I do think if you are educated here the process is faster though.

tell me.. how were they supposed to apply for green cards?? you are making it sound like people are here illegally because the wont fill out the paperwork. as far as being educated.. it makes no difference..there are a lot of immigrants here who are very educated more than many of us..but now are just driving taxis, doing construction work or even cleaning toilets

In Los Angeles about ten years ago there was a call to come down
and apply for your green card. I know many people who went down
at that time and many who didn't. LINES FOR DAYS!!!!

I'm married to a LEGAL citizen who came here from
Central America and obtained a green card quite quickly. I also have
inlaws who became citizens quicker when they proved they had been
educated from K-12 in American schools.

I can't sympathize with WRONG behavior. Period. Go back and do it
the right way and that way you won't have that fear hanging over your
head of will today be the day I get deported.
