May 20, 2007 - Bob Phelps, now serving his fourth term as mayor of Farmers Branch, used to be quite popular among the 28,000 residents of this Dallas suburb. But that was before the nation’s debate over illegal immigration hit home, literally, last week when a rock smashed into the window of his house. Traces of paint and new security cameras mark the spot where someone spray-painted the brickwork with “Viva los Mexicosâ€

right, if anybody needs to be at the forefront of this fight it is LEGAL Hispanics. I mean they chose to obey the law and follow the rules. Why should these other people ruin what they made for themselves.

Exactly!! Why aren't they fighting AGAINST the people who are giving them a bad name??

If there weren't so many illegals here in Dallas (and I mean EVERYWHERE), you wouldn't see this kind of suspicion.

Unfortunately, 80 to 90% of the illegals in Dallas ARE Hispanic, so that's where the racial tension comes from. We really can't tell who is legal and who is not, and unfortunately, most people in Dallas are assuming you're illegal first.

It's not right at all that LEGAL Hispanics have to deal with this, which is so much more of a reason why we need to have the Border secured, true workforce enforcement, a better tamper-proof personal ID system, and housing enforcement. After that happens, the illegals will go away on their own, leaving just the LEGAL Hispanics. Then I believe a good portion of these racial tensions will go away.

No AMERICAN has any problem with another LEGAL AMERICAN, regardless of race, color, religion, etc. American's will be happy to see almost nothing but LEGAL AMERICANS walking the streets again, free from the invasion of the illegals.

People don't realize this tension is against ILLEGAL Hispanics, Asians, Russians, Irish, etc, not against the RACE itself!! (or they do realize this, and of course are using the race card at every opportunity to get exactly what they want, e.g. La Raza).
