Can someone find the section where gang members are eligible if they renounce their affiliation with gangs. Someone challenged me on this and I can't find it. It was stated as being in section 601 (g) 2 in this article but it isn't there.

Section 601(d)(1)(I) permits U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to grant an absconder a Z visa anyway if he can show that being forced to leave the United States ?would result in extreme hardship? to the alien, his spouse, parent or child.

8. The bill effectively shuts down our immigration-court system. If an alien in the removal process is eligible for the Z visa, the immigration judge must close the proceedings and offer the alien the chance to apply for the amnesty.

Yeah, go to that section. Not there. This is important - we are going to lose credibility if we don't correct this!

Yes, I am trying to find it also but I don't see it either. I am not experienced at looking at these... hopefully someone else will jump in and help.

...am I missing something? This doesn't take us anywhere...to locate that information.

Following up on the article, the next sentence by the reporter mentions Cornyn. So, I went to his website. Here is an mp3 of him introducing an amendment to correct this problem, so it must have existed. Surely they would not have left it out of the text while the Senators are at home knowing how unpopular it is, but anything is possible.

Just goes to show the writers of this bill....ARE DEFINATELY NOT LOOKING OUT FOR THIS COUNTRY OR IT'S CITIZENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
