Summary of State-Level Activity in the National Glass-Steagall Week of Action

The level of LaRouchePAC activity in the state legislatures during the National Glass-Steagall Week of Action surpassed by a significant margin any previous week in LPAC's growing mobilization. Here's a sketch to get the sweep of the state activity in one place:

New York: Two LPAC organizers held 20 meetings in Albany on Tuesday, mainly with legislators themselves. The meetings showed very tangible progress. In the course of nine successive trips to Albany, LaRouchePAC organizers and activists have spoken to between a total of 80 to 100 legislators, many now developing in continuing contact. One legislator added his name to the National Legislators open letter for Glass-Steagall.

New Jersey: Diane Sare, of the Policy Committee, along with a team of activists and organizers, had twelve meetings in Trenton on Monday, about half of which were with legislators themselves, half with aides. These meetings exhibit substantial traction in the campaign for Glass-Steagall in New Jersey.

Massachusetts: A large crew of twelve LPAC organizers plus six activists met Thursday morning for one-hour rally in front of the Massachusetts State House on Beacon Hill before hitting the legislature itself. The rally featured a banner which read: "The Eyes of the World Are Upon Us; Glass-Steagall or Chaos!" There was lots of reaction from cars and passers-by, to whom the organizers distributed Day of Action leaflets, along with LPAC leaflets featuring the horrifying statistics on European and American youth unemployment. A chorus sang patriotic songs, creating a dynamic environment around the rally which attracted much attention and interest.

Delaware: LPAC activists organized two days of sustained meetings with legislators in the state capital of Dover.

Pennsylvania: In the state house in Harrisburg, LPAC organizers report substantial progress toward introducing a resolution in support of HR 129 to Restore Glass-Steagall into the state Senate, as a companion to the resolution already in the House. Further meetings in the House also generated several letters to members of the U.S. Senators from prominent legislators, urging Senators to introduced and support Glass-Steagall.

Michigan: Two LPAC organizers joined by one activist had 12 meetings in Lansing on Thursday. The meetings comprised of a rich interplay of Democrats and Republicans, with organizers succeeding in getting several Democrats to understand the need to make common cause with Republicans on Glass-Steagall. Even so-called "fiscal conservatives" were coming to understand and support the idea of restoring Glass-Steagall.

Illinois: "Return to the Land of Lincoln and LaRouche!" LPAC organizers held a successful rally for Glass-Steagall on Tuesday at Daley Plaza inside the Loop. About 700 "Days of Action" leaflets went out during this lunch-time rally, with people of all walks of life, age levels, and political interests taking the literature and getting involved. There was a noticeably much greater awareness and knowledge of Glass-Steagall than there has been in the past. On Wednesday, the LPAC crew organized 25 meetings at the Springfield statehouse, which follow on another 25 meetings which occurred the previous Thursday. This density of activity is creating a tremendous buzz among the legislators.

Minnesota: LPAC activists are continuing non-stop statehouse work to recruit members of the Minnesota state Senate to introduce a companion resolution to the House version in support of Glass-Steagall.

Nebraska: Four activists from South Dakota traveled to Nebraska and met up with a former Nebraska state senator and longtime LaRouche activist. With a large number of meetings they hit the Lincoln state capitol two days running. They met directly with about 10 senators personally along with many aides, with a number of individuals pledging to work their hardest for a resolution. The LaRouchePAC Day of Action leaflet was an especially hard-hitting tool, along with letters of support for Glass-Steagall which have poured in from Europe in the past week, opening up discussions of one fist across two continents. Nevada: Michael Kirsch and a veteran LaRouche activist in Nevada organized 30 meetings in the Carson City statehouse over Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with more scheduled for Friday. They were joined by another activist Monday, and then on Wednesday by eight more LaRouchePAC activists to cumulatively reach at least 60 offices, between legislators and aides.

On November 2, 2012 economist and LaRouche PAC founder Lyndon LaRouche held an election-eve press conference at the National Press Club, where he and EIR Counterintelligence editor Jeffrey Steinberg presented the incontrovertible evidence that President Obama's behavior concerning the terrorist attack on the Benghazi consulate on Sept. 11, 2012 represented an impeachable offense.

They further made the point that, if the President were permitted to continue on this course of action, he would, on the behalf of his British controllers, lead the United States, and the world, into World War III.

Since that press conference, LaRouche PAC has uncovered extensive documentation of the President's impeachable, even treasonous behavior, including his alliance with, and cover-up for, known enemies of the United States, including the Saudi-funded terrorist network which carried out both 9/11 One, in 2001, and 9/11 Two. These have been detailed in LaRouche PAC fact sheets, the latest of which was issued this week.

Now, finally, it appears the Congress is preparing to act. The hearings scheduled to occur May 8, by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, represent the potential for exposing the White House's coverup for jihadi terrorists who are still being protected by the Obama Administration.

It should also be clear that the continued coverup for these terrorists, whom the Obama Administration is supporting in Syria, is leading the world directly toward that World War III confrontation of which LaRouche warned.

In other words, the failure to remove Obama from office for his treasonous alliance with these enemies of the United States, could lead to the extinction of the nation.

III. Wall Street Treason: The Revolution and Its Aftermath

...As American patriots fought for freedom from the British Empire, the British launched a massive financial attack against the currency and credit of the Revolutionary government. Between 1777 and 1791, British leaders unleashed a speculative frenzy in the London markets, to drive down the value of the Revolutionary currency, the Continental, and to destroy the credit of the American government among the nations of Continental Europe.

In New York, in addition to printing huge amounts of counterfeit Continentals to depreciate their value, the British occupation authorities oversaw the creation of a market in financial securities to carry out this London-directed financial sabotage, this time on American soil...(read the missing part here:http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2011... )

..William Duer, the leader of this pack, was the son of a West Indies slave plantation owner, who had served with the British Army in India. Nominally a supporter of the American Revolution, he spent the war making a fortune buying and selling war supplies, and speculating on land and war debt. In 1789, he managed to get himself appointed Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, under Secretary Hamilton, but he clashed with Hamilton and resigned in 1791 to focus entirely on his private financial activity.

As Duer's 1792 financial attacks against the nation's credit intensified, Hamilton publicly responded, denouncing Duer's activities as "not consistent with the Public Good," and stating, "Tis time there should be a line of separation between Honest men and Knaves, between respectable stockholders and mere unprincipled Gamblers." Duer, Livingston, and Macomb eventually went bust, with Duer spending the rest of his life in debtor's prison.

Despite lying attempts by many Wall Street Tories to claim Alexander Hamilton as "one of their own," the truth is that it was the 1804 murder of Hamilton by Burr, which cleared the way for the emergence of a London-directed Wall Street, as a subversive power within the United States throughout the 19th Century. The sovereign national banking system created by Hamilton was designed to ensure a regulated system whereby public credit would be deployed for the public good.

Paradigmatic of Hamilton's intent was his use of the National Bank to finance the project of the Society for Establishing Useful Manufactures, to create the nation's first major industrial center in Passaic, New Jersey. This was a pioneer project, to serve as the model for how credit could be used to finance the industrial and scientific development of the nation. Hamilton envisioned a system of national and state chartered banks which would take in deposits of sovereign Federal debt and securities, and use those deposits as security for issuing a flow of credit into the productive economy.

The real patron saint of Wall Street has always been Aaron Burr, who counted among his closest friends and supporters many of the same speculators at the Merchants and Tontine Coffee Houses who were active in the treasonous attacks against the American currency. Burr would also create the Bank of Manhattan in 1799, in an attempt to destroy the national banking policies of Hamilton. Burr's New York operations were paralleled by the creation of private banks by Alexander Brown in Baltimore (1800), and the opium trafficker Stephen Girard in Philadelphia (1811).

These banks, and others that followed, were modeled on the British Empire system of private "merchant banks." Brown's bank, generally considered the first investment bank in U.S. history, opened a Wall Street branch in 1820, which later evolved into the infamous Brown Brothers Harriman. Later, when British agent President Martin Van Buren signed the Free Banking Act of 1838 into law, the sovereign banking institutions of the United States were almost totally destroyed....
