How many thousands of genuine slaves are toiling away in sweatshops , and sex parlours in our own country?

The government wont stop it.

How many Americans want to have another civil war over it?

A few years ago, it was discovered that some slimebag had conned Russian girls into the strip clubs as slaves in this city. One escaped, fortunately, and told. They got deported back to Russia, of course, but I don't think the guy who made them into slaves got a slap on the wrist. That's justice for you.
