Trump didn't lose, he came in second. Kasich LOST, Bush LOST, Rubio came in 3rd, he didn't "win".

You're right the 3 top finishers all got 5 delegates. Regardless of what Trump has said in the past about 2nd, I don't see anything wrong with it in Iowa. However, second place will be a loss in states that have a winner-take-all rule on delegates.

“No one remembers who came in second.”

No, that isn't right. Cruz got 8 delegates and Trump and Rubio got 7, Carson 3, and then several got 1 and several got 0.

So the difference between "winning Iowa" and being 2 or 3 in Iowa is .... 1 delegate.

Cruz said during his 32 minute victory speech over his 1 delegate victory, "to God be the glory" (but shhhush don't tell Him I cheated Trump and Carson to get it).

Okay, I'll buy that. I saw something last night that showed the top 3 finishers getting 5 delegates each, but what you're saying makes more sense because the winner should get more than everyone else.

    It varies by state.
