May 1 RESULTS ARE IN FOLKS

    ALIPAC NOTE:

This info has been ruled incorrect by one of our activists.

There is thread on here about the May 1st protests and how they effected retail sales data. I have contacted the National Retal Federation to verify this info. The VP of Public Relations, Scott Krugman wrote to me personally to tell me this post is NOT accurate. I do not have permission to remove posts (not an admin) but since outsiders ARE watching this site, I figured you don't want inaccurate information being bandied about on your site (opens you to ridicule and criticism). The thread is titled "May 1 Results Are In Folks."
Here is the text of the email I received stating it is inaccurate:

HOPE THIS PUTS A SMALL SMILE ON YOUR FACES
    TOO GOOD NOT TO SHARE

On May 1st, as a result of the Great American Boycott...
National retailers reported a mere 4.2% lower sales for the day, with a 67.8% reduction in shoplifting!!

People keep sending me these stats--is this true? And if so, where did the numbers come from? Is this just a joke? Nobody seems to know.

I am not being negative - just trying to understand this.

What exactly was the point of Americans shopping that day?

I too would like to know from what economic authority these came from because if it's true, and verifiable, it should be brought to the attention of the media.

    Verified As Inaccurate

I contacted the VP of Public Relations at the National Retail Federation and they have informed me that this information is not accurate.
