McCain still not listening to the people
McCain still not listening to the people
Mar. 30, 2008 12:00 AM
After the defeat of his "comprehensive" illegal-immigration bill last year, Sen. John McCain says that he got the message and will now listen to the will of the people.
The reason that the bill was defeated was because it contained a provision to allow those here illegally to stay here, a concept called "amnesty."
Now the senator says that, to heed the will of the people, his first priority is to secure our border from illegal trespass, while in the same breath telling us that the illegals who have succeeded in sneaking in (or who have overstayed their visas) should be allowed to remain and given a path to citizenship.
After all, he says, they are "God's children," too.
We, the people to whom he now says he is listening, have clearly told him that we don't want any form of amnesty, so how can he be "listening" to us?
If it is O.K. with him for the 20 million, or more, individuals now residing here illegally to be rewarded with what they broke our law to obtain, why is it now his first priority to make sure that no more do the same?
In my view, that's being pretty discriminatory. - Richard Humphries,Elfrida

Me either. I will vote for Nader or some other third party candidate before I will vote for any of these three candidates.

We can't deport them all ? Just think of the fun we could have trying!

Excerpt from interview conducted in 2004 with Pat Buchanan:
PB: Should illegal aliens be entitled to social-welfare benefits, even though they are not citizens and broke into the country?
RN: I think they should be given all the fair-labor standards and all the rights and benefits of American workers, and if this country doesn’t like that, maybe they will do something about the immigration laws.
PB: Should they be entitled to get driver’s licenses?
RN: Yes, in order to reduce hazards on the highway. If you have people who are driving illegally, there are going to be more crashes, and more people are going to be killed.
Nader thinks we should reward the illegal aliens."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**

Of course McCain is still not listening to United States citizens. He panders to the illegals in hopes of giving them amnesty, which would secure him more votes when time comes for him to be re-elected (that's if he is elected president and already served one term), and the legal hispanics living here already will say-"McCain is for our people! Let's vote for him again!" Now the illegals, who McCain gave amnesty to, will combine their votes with the legal hispanics to have a lanslide win again for McCain. And what about the American citizen? Forget it.
