That is just INFURIATING. Here, UNLESS it was an emergency room visit, they would make them pay up front OR sign a finance agreement if they didn't have insurance. I have heard them asking people that when they were in the cubicle next to me checking in for a procedure. If it was in the emergency room, though, they wouldn't ask for that. But, we have one "Doc in the Box" in my town and they darn sure either make you pay or make sure you have insurance.
