Watch Frontline this Tuesday, October 31!

By now you may have heard about Bangladeshi economist Muhammad Yunus, who was recently awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for pioneering micro-loans through his Grameen Bank. His micro-credit system has since been adopted by more than 100 nations and helped lift millions out of poverty.

You may have read about it, but this week on PBS you will truly feel the power of micro-lending when you meet the people involved and see the life-changing effects.

Learn More About Micro-lending on PBS’ Frontline World

On Tuesday, October 31, PBS’ Frontline World will feature MATT’s partner in micro-lending, Kiva. Here you can see the entire micro-loan cycle from beginning to end with an up-close and personal look at the micro-loan process in the country where Kiva started.

Over the last month, Frontline filmed in both Uganda and San Francisco, documenting the process from start to finish. The story begins as an entrepreneur in Uganda applies for a loan through one of Kiva’s lending partners and continues right through to the day they receive the funds. The program will also profile some of the original borrowers who have grown their businesses and fully repaid their loans through Kiva.org.
