Mexican Secretary of Exterior Relations, Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, said that when Barak Obama becomes president, Mexico will reassert its contention that his agenda include an immigration agreement as a priority. In addition, other aspects of dialogue to be addressed are the fight against organized crime and the economic competitiveness with other regions. In a press conference, she assured that President Felipe Calderon is confident that with Obama’s presidency a migration agreement will finally be reached that permits both nations a flow of migration that is legal, safe and orderly. Espinosa also said that the Mexican government hopes the US president-elect changes his position on the construction of the border fence. She pointed out that Calderon’s government will continue to raise the issue, respectfully but firmly, that the border fence does not correspond to the friendly relations and and the partnership that exists between Mexico and the US. Pointing out the contributions Mexicans make to the US economy and society that benefits both sides, she stated, “we hope that with the new administration we can continue working in the sense of the importance of the border becoming a common area of opportunities and that we concentrate on efforts that take us to better levels of well being.â€

"Common area of opportunities?" LOL...OK! Don't you mean "opportunity" for mexico? And what about the "contributions" Americans make in the way of spending their tourists dollars in mexico. Is mexico prepared to grant Americans mexican citizenship and allow them to work in that country? Not that any one would be interested, but fair is fair!

Further, mexicans are not benefiting our economy, as there is a step price tag associated with this illegal invader work force here in this country. The only ones seemingly benefiting is mexico ( remittances) and the corrupt business owners that exploit this cheap illegal labor, to the detriment of America and her citizens!

In other words, thanks but no thanks! How about you keep your illegal invaders on your side of the fence and not worry about the perceived contributions your illegals make to this country.

We do not need your faux help!

calderon, obviously believes he can make any claims, no matter how outragous, and if repeated enough it will be soon become 'the truth'. i personally am not seeing any positive contributions these illegal invaders are making.

Hell NO! We dont want to take care of MORE MEXICAN peasants, and we dont want to team up with Mexico to fight their crime! Mexico needs to get its act together and start providing opportunities for their own people, and quit looking to the U.S. for help.
