Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Signs Pro-Indoctrination Bills
In several cities and states, schools are using curriculum materials from Mexico's public schools, and even aligning their courses with those taught in Mexico so that courses will be valid in both countries. "The availability of resources is astounding," said Patrick Burk of the Oregon Department of Education's superintendent's office. "We're able to serve students so much better if we're working together." Burk, with several other Oregon curriculum officials, flew to Mexico over the summer to discuss aligning Oregon's standards for such courses with Mexico's.
Mexico has made its public school curriculum available to American schools free of charge since 2001. Administrators such as Burk adopt the curriculum to "minimize disruption" for immigrants from Mexico. While 15% of Oregon students are Hispanic, only 2% of teachers are. The materials from Mexico include DVDs and website components, which students can use without direct teacher supervision.

Critics of the idea, however, doubt that continuing to teach Hispanic students in Spanish using Mexican curriculum will help them to get their learning on track or adapt to their new English-speaking schools. The longer students receive instruction in Spanish, the more slowly they will learn English. Many also question whether Mexico's curriculum will adequately teach math or science, let alone U.S. history, which is also among the subjects offered by Mexico.

Oregon is not the only place where schools are implementing this curriculum. In Washington state, about 30 schools already use it. The city of Yakima, Washington is also considering aligning courses officially with Mexico's national curriculum, as are San Diego, California and Austin, Texas. (The Oregonian, 9-19-07)

California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger disappointed pro-family activists by signing several bills affecting how California students will learn about homosexuality, gender and the family. These bills force public school teachers to present a positive view of homosexuality and transgender behaviors, with the effect that any mention of the natural family of mother, father and children may become taboo.
SB 777 adds sexual orientation to a list of characteristics specially protected in schools by California law. It is now illegal to use any instructional materials in the public schools that "reflect adversely upon persons because of their disability, gender, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic contained in the definition of hate crimes that is contained in the Penal Code."

The consequences could be far-reaching. Even referring to "Mom and Dad" could be seen as "reflecting adversely" on a homosexual lifestyle or on households headed by homosexual couples. "Because no textbook or instruction in California public schools currently disparages transsexuality, bisexuality, or homosexuality, the practical effect of SB 777 will be to require positive portrayals of these sexual lifestyles at every government-operated school," warned the Campaign for Children and Families, which fought the bill. ............

Incidently I am not anti-gay nor homophobic.

If Mexico's schools so good why are they coming here to be educated.......their education system is substandard and doesn't need to be promoted here.

It's already here. For those who have children in public schools, they need to get them out and either home school, or send them to private schools.
Seems impossible though since most can't afford private schools, or have the time to home school. Of course the government knows this, so most are stuck.

Our government is trying to dumb our children down, so parents need to wake up and start joining school boards etc.

Brainwashing is right. None of our children should ever be exposed to this kind of education. Arnold should never have held office ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME! This is what happens to America whenever immigrants are not fully assimilated into our culture and society. We get completely thrown off course by a bunch of globalist idiots.

This may be less a case of liberal ideals than it would seem on the surface. Like my Pappy always said, 'Follow the money!'.
The academics probably like this for the ease of getting bribes and kickbacks.
There are billions of dollars at stake in the business of selecting and purchasing educational materials for schools. The companies that sell them will pay out some BIG bucks to school administrators, so that they'll purchase their programs, books, and other media.
This is a common practice in the USA, but the administrators always have to worry about getting caught, if somebody in the industry blows the whistle. It would be much easier to extort that kind of cash from Mexican companies, with little or no traceability; that's just how business is done south of the border, there are probably not even any laws against it.

The dumbest part of this is that Spanish should not be taught in any American school except in higher grades like high school where you could choose the foreign language you wished to learn. Only English should be taught in lower grades. American parents should spend more time in the schools and stop this nonsense.
And since Mexico does not know American history, how could they possibly teach it. All of these people invading this country seem to have a very distorted view of history. Should American children be taught Mexican history in American schools? Never!!!!!.
Keep in mind the fact that Hispanics are working very to dominate the schools. It must be prevented.

Governor Arnold is an idiot. Look at the condition of California.
