ONE WAY TO BECOME A TRUE CITIZEN.

ONE WAY TO BECOME A TRUE CITIZEN.

My thinking may not be right but it is still hard for me to look at illegal aliens who have been given amnesty and citizenship as legal citizens of this country because they did not respect our laws and enter this country legally. They were given citizenship that they did not earn. The same with anchor babies. Citizenship is an honor that is earned by following our immigration laws and no other way. There cannot be a price on citizenship because that deduced the ( I cannot find the word I want to use) value of what it stand for. I believe that is one of the reasons they cross over our borders illegally and have so little respect for any of our laws. We cannot allow illegal immigration do that to our nation. Disregard and disrespect for one law always lead to disregard and disrespect for other laws. It has a lot to do with how other countries see and respect us as a nation. How can we expect other nations to respect us when we are not serious about respecting our selves. They see the weakness in us if we cannot uphold and enforce laws that we make.
If we are not a nation of laws, we are no longer a nation expecting respect and GOD help us.

Myself I think we were would be better off taking Mexico over. What the heck they couldn't survivie without our money anyway. We might as well have some benefits such as oil. Send all the illegals back. Make it a country they would want to return to instead of the corrupt 3rd world it is. It would appear it would benefit our country. More than the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan. Why does a country like our allows this 3rd world country to threaten us and tell us how to run our country! Boy could we use some leadership like now!!!

When amnesty was granted in 1986 were the applicants given citizenship or just permanent resident status?
Immigration reform should reflect a commitment to enforcement, not reward those who blatantly break the rules. - Rep Dan Boren D-Ok

To me they are one of the same. They get to stay here and bring in their families.

    What's an LPR?
An LPR is a lawful permanent resident alien. An LPR has a legal "green card" and is entitled to live and work in the United States, and to file petitions to bring more alien family members into the United States. According to the INS, a "permanent resident alien" is an alien admitted to the United States as a lawful permanent resident. Permanent residents are also commonly referred to as immigrants; however, the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) broadly defines an immigrant as any alien in the United States, except one legally admitted under specific nonimmigrant categories (INA section 101(a)(15)). An illegal alien who entered the United States without inspection, for example, would be strictly defined as an immigrant under the INA but is not a permanent resident alien. Lawful permanent residents are legally accorded the privilege of residing permanently in the United States. They may be issued immigrant visas by the Department of State overseas or adjusted to permanent resident status by the Immigration and Naturalization Service in the United States.
