Faced With These Facts, Mexico Still Has The Gall To Be Indignant
Posted by Bernard in Border Fence, Congress, Economics, Illegal Immigration, Mexico, News, Politics, Pres. Bush Thursday December 20, 2007 at 9:30 am

Consider the following facts, as reported by Fox News (H/T: Hyscience).

    First:

The number of foreign residents in Mexico grew from 340,000 people in 1990, or about 0.42 percent of the population at the time, to about 493,000 in 2000, or about 0.5 percent, the last year for which data is available.

More than two-thirds of the foreign residents are from the United States, and many of those are of Mexican extraction.

    Second:

… the Mexican-born population living in the United States increased from about 800,000 in 1970 to more than 11 million in 2006.

The majority of Mexicans now living in the United States — 6.2 million — are undocumented …

Almost 30 million people in the United States are direct descendants of Mexico migrants …

    Third:

… 68 percent of Mexicans who migrate or try to migrate to the United States do so without documents and 55 percent of them hire immigrant smugglers.

Now consider where the Mexican government may go as a result of a provision in Congress’ Omnibus Spending Bill that is awaiting President Bush’s signature (reported by the San Diego Union Tribune):

The Mexican government is considering blocking U.S. exports, such as pork and rice, should Congress cut off funding for a cross-border trucking program, as is expected to happen within days.

“We learned that the Mexican government has recently been undertaking an exercise to estimate the impact of retaliating against the U.S. if this pilot program is halted,â€

No education, no family values, what do you expect? All they seem to be interested in, is sneaking into the U.S., dropping anchor babies, and sucking up taxpayer dollars.

Then when they get deported, they leave their anchor babies behind for the taxpayers to raise, and they moan and cry about how cruel, inhumane and racist we are.

That is so much easier then doing "what is right," fighting for your country.

    GOT IT ILLEGALS??????????????????

FIGHTING FOR "YOUR" COUNTRY, NOT OURS..........THAT'S WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR!!!

My Mexican Catholic priest friend who became an AMERICAN last month and is PROUD to BE an American, noticed the indignant frustration of my Brazilian friend and me with Hispanic immigrants who REFUSE to learn English, BLABBER in SPANISH in FRONT of AMERICANS and NON-Hispanic foreigners, and even INSIST that WE learn Spanish. The priest told us about an enclave of French culture near Guadalajara, Mexico's second-largest city. The inhabitants of this region are descended from French pioneers who came to Mexico in the 1860's. Although these people have always accepted SPANISH as the OFFICIAL language of Mexico, learn and speak it, they RETAIN their FRENCH language and culture AMONG themselves. The priest, a native of a small rural village near this area, related to my Brazilian friend and me the OUTRIGHT AGGRAVATION of some Mexicans who RESENTED these descendants of the 1860's French immigrants for SPEAKING their OWN language among themselves and KEEPING some of their OWN customs! "It's ironic," the priest remarked, "how angry these Mexicans get at foreigners who use their OWN languages in Mexico, but then some of these SAME Mexicans who come to the United States REFUSE to learn English and wonder WHY Americans and non-Hispanic immigrants get so RILED UP at them!" My Brazilian friend laughed and said, "Father, I believe the problem is that those Mexicans simply CAN'T or WON'T MAKE the CONNECTION!" The priest grinned, "You SAID it!" And then ALL three of us enjoyed a BIG laugh over THIS one!
